Lil_Mama welcome and good luck
Hedgehog - would be interested in how your GCJ burgers come out - Im thinking of using chilli powder or paprika in mine, not too keen on cumin (i dont think) lol
Had a spend up today, amounting to £11.94, will add to my sig now.0 -
Just totting up my spends so far for the week; £18.60 in Morri£on£ on all those basics (including savers mushy peas, fantastic for thickening up any stew, curry or soup!). Had to do an emergency wine purchase in te£co after a hospital visit, and got there just as the veg was on its final reductions, so £5.71 got the wine, a bag of carrots, 2 bags of pre cut broccoli and carrots (made a great curry out of those) and some fresh peas :T
Sadly I need stuff like loo roll and washing powder so I'll be popping to £id£ tomorrow. Hate spending my grocery budget on those boring, practical things!Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

Gosh you really notice the money go when you take your food budget out in cash and don't just put it on the card!! Haven't had any nsds yet this month but have taken lunch to work with me every day!
Husband didn't realise forgetting to make lunch would mean his 'meal deal' would need to come out the food budget (another £3 easy spent)! However, I did get caught out today at work and needed to buy a drink between home visits (£1.20!) Think we are both on a steep learning curve with this being the first month we have tried the challenge. hey ho, you live and learn!

Needed sliced bread for beans on toast as only two slices in the bread bin and my girls won't eat homemade with this meal. Took advantage of two for a £1 loaf and asked Dad could he please freeze one as my freezer is full ( only have three drawers which is a PITA ... used to have four and before that six
). with the bread was one fizzy water and some fromage frais for packed lunch.

Well we're having a party this weekend so we've allowed extra for this and we've spent a total of £189.59 today but that includes a full weekly shop including stuff like loo roll, wash powder, fabric conditioner for the month as well as all the party food and alcohol. Sainsburys staff discount is currently 15% for a week and I also bought two daily mirrors last week so had a £5 voucher off my Aldi shop last week as well as this week. It broke down as £119.22 weekly shop and £70.37 on party food/booze. I've got a busy day tomorrow doing loads of baking for the party. No doubt, as usual, we'll be dining on leftovers on Sunday!
Hopefully quite a few NSD next week. Off to update signature x

Made a trip to Mr T's today. Roughly a 20 minute bike ride. Was pretty hilly, so I was pretty exhausted when I got home. Should get used to it though as I'll soon be moving to Durham (really hilly place) and have nearly a 5 mile daily commute. Stocked up on a few things. Got some of their own-brand Weetabix to see how it compares to what I'm used to. Also got some powdered milk to see how that goes - and it's not too bad, actually. Spent £10.67 which knocks me up to £50.39 spent in Sept so far. Boo, back over £10/day average.
Florenceem: I must confess to copying your Wednesday meal exactly today - it just looked so tasty! Indeed it was. Even made the wedges myself
Psyching ourselves up for a week-day NSD on Monday. Will make packed lunches for the first time in a long time. Will try to cook something on Sunday which will have appropriate leftovers. Ideas? Suppose I should check the 'take your lunch to work' thread.Extra money made jun 19: £16.07
