I knew stopping off at the supermarket on the way to work was a bad idea. I only wanted a decent choice of fruit and alas I found myself £21 poorer after buying the new issue of the g00d f00d mag, (a little treat for me since OH is going on a stag do at the weekend) fruit (grapes and punnet of peaches), various biscuits (on offer £1 each - will do for OH's lunchbox), a pot of hard cheese, a branded pasta and sauce (on offer), bread and peanut butter.

    Oh well. must try harder.

    Local good supermarket £26.90.

I am now well stocked up with meat for at least the next week so I have overspent. I know I can make this stretch a good bit so am happy enough.

HELLO! My hols are all over now, so I am ready to have a proper good go at this challenge. I would like to try £200 for September please for two of us. Got home from a music festival on Monday and did a healthy eating shop of £45.94 as I was so disgusted with my eating and drinking antics at the weekend. As of today I have enough in the fridge and freezer still for about 6 dinners and lunches. Would like to do a shop at the start of next week and continue to build up some freezer stocks of curries/chilli as they are handy for when you're tired and can't be bothered! Looking forward to the winter to get the stews/soups etc in!!
    Save 12k in 2014 (my target: £10 000):
    My savings: £4878.54/£7000
    Joint account savings: £2685.57/£3000
    Total:£7564.11/£10 000 (as at 26/10/14)

No spend yesterday as nothing in shop reduced. Today got 3 packs sliced ham at 50p instead of 2.00,a pack broccoli,
30p instead of 1.o9, four 2kg bags potatoes 50p instead of 1.85. , 2 bags baby new salad potatoes 60p instead of
    1.79. Total 5.30 instead of 17.61.

I was very pleased with the potatoes as most are big enough for baking. Did notice they had a pack of just 4 Baking ones at 2.00, but some of the reduced ones are bigger than those.

Now must ring DD and DIL to tell them not to buy potatoes.

I do need some carrots but might pop to the market tomorow to get those.

    Another NSD for me.

I've made a huge cottage pie for tonight & 3 small ones to go in the freezer.
The pies have used up the last of the potatoes & veg so i'll use by last £10 to restock tomorrow for the weekend.

We still haven't done a proper shop this month. I was tempted today to get some veggies for dinner - we're having burgers on the BBQ. I'm not long out of the shower, and can't be bothered to dry my hair and go out. Laziness or money saving??

Did a big shop at Aldis to stock up for the month, (48 juice boxes anyone?)
Spent £63.02 and used my vouchers, then popped back in for paracetamol , hair dye and a drink so my total so far is £66 and something pence ( its in my sig)
Have made a months meal plan, it's a bit repetitive but I think the kids like that, (Monday is always pizza night).
Tonight Kids are having HM Meatloaf from the freezer and I'll be having one of my many packets of cous cous!
