I've been to Aldi & spent £26.68 on loads of fruit & veg etc.
I should have enough to last me the week using bits from the freezer.

Leaves me with £13.32 spare in case of emergencies.

Another NSD here as neighbour bought me bread and milk I needed as a thank you for babysitting for her the other day. Made a meal plan and put order in for mr A delivery on wednesday.
    January Grocery challenge - £165.31/£350
  • Another spend here today, Ald1, needed some cold meats for packed lunches, but the use by dates were really good, so stocked up to prevent another trip next week. Also got some meat which we just had in a stir fry, milk and some tinned stuff. £14.64 giving me a new total of £198.18/£300.

That should be it from me for a week or so until we need more milk.

    Meal plan now in place.

    Today stir fry
Tuesday YS chicken in bread crumbs with hm wedges
    Wednesday Chilli or bolognaise
    Thursday Kebabs and rice
    Friday Pasta bake
    Saturday Omlettes
Sunday Roast with left overs for the following week
Monday - Friday weird working hours, so using the frozen batch cooked meals from the freezer for all of us.

May need eggs and milk, but other than that we have everything we need.

Went to Ald. today - spent £6.93 but got lots for the money.
Dinner was Sweet Potato Wedges + Pasty + Brocolli, Carrots, Onion with a chunk of buttered GCJ's Easy Peasy Garlic Bread.
GCJ blog posted recipe today so I had a go at the Easy Peasy Garlic Bread - don't think it turned out - how it was meant. However we had a buttered chunk with dinner. We will have some more for lunch tomorrow. A really cheap recipe - next time I will add more than the 2 cloves of garlic. I didn't have Parsley so used Mixed Herbs. I already had milk on the turn so was half way there for the sour milk.

    Hi,
Trying again with the Grocery Challenge,( last tried in January:o) I have a budget of £200 for 1 adult and 2 children.
Am planning to do a big Aldi shop this week with my Daily Mail vouchers, and hopefully get away with a small top up shop each week for fresh stuff. I'm also buying bits to build up my Christmas food stash.
