eBay restricting my account due to my BROTHER not paying HIS bill on HIS account

Hmmm, so it doesn't bode well then0

Easy - give your brother £7 to pay ebay then they will unfreeze his account and yours will be OK too. Or am I oversimplifying things?Don't grow up. Its a trap!
Peace, love and labradors!0 -
As I already explained, my brother is REFUSING to pay, even if I were to give him the £7. Also, eBay have already said to me this would not make any difference to them linking our accounts- in all likeliness it would just confirm their suspicions. I really am in a pickle with this. 12 years of perfect eBay membership with about one and a half thousand feedback ruined for £7.0

I shouldn't think so
They're b@st@ards! But they're big, and they can afford to do pretty much whatever they want.
Don't let that stop you from giving it a bloody good go, though.
EMails and letters and telephone calls.
You never know your luck0 -
What?
Not even about the purchase of ebay services by an ebay seller?
Of course it is about a purchase.
And if the OP is acting as a consumer when purchasing these ebay services, then of course it is a Consumer Rights issue.
How is this a consumer rights issue? eBay can pick and choose who they want to sell on they're site, no one has a right to sell on it!0 -
Arguing about which topic this falls under isn't really helping. I believe it has now been moved to the eBay sub-forum anyway.
I have now contacted my local radio show BBC 3 Counties to see if they would be interested in helping me as they do a lot of this sort of Watchdog style stuff.0 -
Yes you'll get more help from the ebay board.
However I'll just chime in and say ebay are doing nothing illegal, they can ban or restrict anyone they want from selling on their website.
If you think of ebay as a shop landlord and you are just renting space then the landlord can raise prices or even end your tenancy for any reason (because it's in the T&C). In this case eBay are doing it to protect customers as they believe you are a risky seller.0 -

Of course Ebay can make that choice, just like any seller can.
But having made that choice, the consumer then has rights.0 -
