How many people dont order because of the delivery cost?
DPD have always come through for me,however they are charging for that service0 -
I would be pleased to pay extra for reliable delivery. I hate yodel and avoid ordering when I know they are the courier"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

We don't charge delivery for it, and use the repeat custom to pay the extra fees.
We're no more expensive than anyone else, but do issue various things exclusively under license💙💛 💔0 -
Excellent service, 2 deliveries in the past 2 days, they emailed me the delivery time and both days delivered on said time.0

DPD are by far the best delivery company I've ever had stuff delivered via.
However as has been said, you tend to pay a bit more for them than say Yodel, as DPD seem to have more drivers/allow more time per delivery for them*, and they have invested huge amounts since they rebranded from from their old name (IIRC they were bought out and the new owners basically built state of the art sorting facilities, and IT infrastructure, I suspect they also allow a little more time per delivery than say Citylink, let alone Yodel).
Unfortunately a lot of people only ever look at the cost of something when comparing retailers, not giving a thought to things like how reliable the deliveries are, or how good the CS is (the same reason people go for dirt cheap ISP's, then wonder why their speed isn't great and the CS is poor).
*Because they give the one hour window by default, apparently it's not uncommon if the driver is running fast for him to sit in the van for a few minutes (I've heard their PDA will not let them deliver an item outside of the estimated time).0 -
In a week you'll be able to check your parcel and get a 30 minute window and even see how many parcels are to be delivered before yours... By far the best delivery company.0

One DPD chap even phoned me to ask if I'd mind if he delivered 10 minutes early....Je suis sabot...0

So glad to see this thread here - I meant to start one last week after I received a delivery via DPD. With all the bad press couriers receive (and I understand why) I thought the service from DPD was amazing.
I was updated by text, given a 1 hr slot (item arrived 30 mins into that slot), given alternative delivery options and driver was named in text - Lynn!
So - Yes! - "big thumbs up" to a courier that provides an excellent service :T0 -
Agree with comments above.
Ordered off Amazon and got a text the day before delivery saying item to be delivered next day and options to leave with neighbour, re-arrange for a different day etc, replied with leave with neighbour or leave safe.
Got text confirming leave with neighbour accepted.
Day of delivery got text giving 1hr time slot and drivers name.
Courier had posted item through my letterbox so must have read text saying could be left safe.
While this is an excellent service as other have said you will pay for it as the sending company.
The IT infastructure involved must have cost a fortune, however this helps them as much as us as private address deliveries should always be in to recieve delivery.0
