Specific section for pregnancy related threads?

Just wondered if there is any reason there is not a specific section for this, and if it would be possible at all?
The Marriage, Relationships, Families bit has several TTC/pregnancy threads throughout it and I know I would prefer it if they were in their own little section. I don't know if its just me being oversensitive at the moment with certain life experiences but its a bit sore scrolling down and seeing them unexpectedly. I'd rather have the option to view them as another sub section, because the larger section they are posted in is one I visit the most regularly.
Apologies if I am being ridiculous! I keep forgetting that the Marriage etc section encompasses those threads in the main body of it until I see them

Seems like a fair suggestion.
Those threads contain enough posts to suggest that a specific pregnancy-related sub-section would be viable.0 -
I don't really understand this section, do I have to wait and hope that someday it might be thought of as a good idea and might happen?!0

Maybe the preg-related topics could go in the Mums' sub-forum? It seems a logical place for them.Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.0

Hi there
Thanks for the suggestion, we had a chat among the team about this today.
We can see the reasoning behind it but we feel the Families board is the best place for it (MoneySaving Mums has been set up so mums can find MoneySaving discussion quickly and easily).
And actually a better solution may be to have an "All Things Pregnancy sticky thread" linking to all of them so you can find the links quickly and easily?Could you do with a Money Makeover?

*facepalm* Am I confused? .. I thought the OP was hoping to NOT find them more easily.
I'd agree that the pregnancy threads in the main body of content in the M,R& F boards are a little insensitive to those who have miscarried or are unable to conceive and don't want to read about it..
This is difficult when there are seven different, longstanding threads scattered throughout the front page alone.

Caitlin_Bree summarised it really well below your post.
I'd really rather not come across the pregnancy threads if I could at all avoid them. I appreciate that I could just stay out of the Marriage, families, relationships section but its so widely encompassing that I feel like I'm missing out on quite a big chunk of what I read on here if I were to ignore the whole section.
Its not as though there is just one or two threads, there are several and its hard to just ignore them when they are usually always dotted on the first couple of pages
I fully appreciate I am most likely being oversensitive and half expected several people to tell me so. Almost everyone in my every day life seems to be pregnant right now and I keep forgetting the bombardment of pregnancy threads when I click on the M,R and F section.
If all the threads were in their own 'Babies, Pregnancy, TTC and WTT' section then those who want to would be able to find the threads more easily and questions related to those topics perhaps answered more fully due to not getting lost on a lengthy thread...
Bottom line is, I would prefer to be able to ignore most pregnancy chatter, ie. it have its own section, and I do think others would find it helpful being directed there too.0 -
Hi GoldenShadow
It's not something we can do right now and as you've suggested, it's not really possible to avoid the subject entirely on our forum on in real life.
We're redesigning the forum at the moment though so when we start asking for feedback on a board and thread level could you pop the suggestion in the right place and we'll take a look.Could you do with a Money Makeover?

I like the idea to seperate it out, But Please don't put Pregnacy in with Mums, as that would cause a great deal of pain to those WTT, TTC & those who have had Miscariage.
Perhaps as Andrea suggested Pre-Pregnancy & Pregnancy could have its own sticky area?
Just adding my 2ps as I might miss the forum re-jig.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0
