Woohoo application has been approved subject to valuation!

Hopefully it'll be getting arranged today and won't be too long but things are finally moving :)

  • Things seem to be really slow for me.

Paid for valuation on the 11th aug and I had to phone last week to find out what was happening. was told valuation was 28th. uknown reason for hold up.
Phoned today to confirm valuation has taken place and told its tomorrow now. They state possibly vendor delaying valuation but they want a quick sale.

mortgage approved subject to valuation though :j, i asked about payslips and was told dont think they are needed as low mortgage and i already bank with lender (natwest) im not sure if they just go through statements and can see earnings.I asked about gift letter and they said solicitor will deal with it. solicitor had that 3 weeks ago so may already be done.

solicitor has done a load of work and awaiting vendor to answer questions.

my big worry is it all seems to easy the natwest paperless application.
  • Hi All,

Does anyone know if Santander will ask for more statements if their turn around time is slow. I put in the application about 2 weeks ago and they have ordered the valuation.
The underwriting team are supposed to receive the application next week but this will hit September and then they wont have my last 3 statements but 3 of the last 4 i.e. May, June and July statements but not August. Even though september will be available.

Is this going to push me back again or will they just continue?

    Thanks!

    Morning all!

Me and my partner are applying for a mortgage with Santander, so far, here is our timeline!

    AIP: 16/08/2018
    Offer Accepted on Property: 17/08/2018
    Formal Application Submitted: 18/08/2018
Property Valuation Instructed by Santander: 19/08/2018
All Documents Sent to Santander: 22/08/2018
    Proof of Deposit Requested: 27/08/2018
    Application sent to Underwriting: 28/08/2018

Hopefully we get accepted for the mortgage!
The valuation is booked for Wednesday 5th September (as they had to reschedule, it was supposed to be Tuesday 28th!)

Everyone seems fairly confident about us getting accepted, as they have already credit checked us (as soon as the application went in), they have already approved our documents and requested the proof of deposit!

Anyone else getting a mortgage with Santander? How long did it take to get approved/denied?
    Best of luck everyone!

**UPDATE** We have now had our mortgage application accepted subject to Valuation!! HAPPY DAYS! Can stop stressing so much now!:j

**UPDATE 06.09.2018** Valuation carried out by the Surveyor yesterday, and Offer received from Santander (online and via email) the same day! Full Mortgage Application has now been approved!
All that remains is the Solicitors, exchange of contracts, and transfer of funds!
I'd best start packing my things!!

    BEST OF LUCK EVERYONE!

Mine was sent off earlier this month, and I sent the same bank statements - May, June and July - and they seem happy enough to continue, even though my application will quite probably run into September!
    Best of luck!

I’m re-joining - new mortgage application went in yesterday as another property had come back onto the market - same layout and size, slightly more to do (choice not condition per se), quieter location as further from main road. Had an offer accepted of £32k less than the first property so cancelled the first application.
Chain is ready to go (sale fell through 3 days before exchange) - no pressure...

To speed things up I have split the survey for my homebuyer report and the basic valuation this time, using a local surveyor - Nationwide had four weeks lead time last time! (Which was good for us - at least we have lost nothing by changing property as nothing had been done yet!)

Hoping to get the valuation appointment notification today and for the application to go through quickly.

Application has been with Barclays for over two weeks now. Sick of this.
  • Hi all,

FTB's here, long time lurker so thought I'd post our timeline here. We going through with the PO via L&C Mortgages.

Offer Accepted on property, solicitors instructed (Had outline DIP from L&C, but waited until we found the right property before committing to a specific lender)
15th Aug - Submitted DIP with PO- Hard Search done & referred
20th Aug - DIP Approved & Application Submitted
21st Aug - Soft Search done (seems an odd way round!)
22nd Aug - Docs Submitted - Bank Statements, Payslips etc.
30th Aug - Further docs submitted - 3 years of P60's for me.

Waiting for the valuation to be booked in & fingers crossed we'll get the mortgage through.
All the usual solicitors work has been going on in the background; I'm sure the end of summer hols/bank holiday weekend has caused a few delays so its not been as quick as the PO make out on their website!
