Halifax are brilliant to deal with , really quick and your on to a winner if they are doing a valuation as it means you ok to them
Good luck with it0 -
Fingers crossed!!
Just want to know now, they haven't asked for anything else as yet
Think I'd go mad without this forum lol x0 -
I!!!8217;d like to join in!!
2nd August - originally submitted enquiry to L&C
3rd August - L&C recommend we go with Halifax - had contact off two other people from brokers asking for other information Between 4th and 8th then heard nothing - original broker was in holiday with one other out of office
14th August I email original contact asking if I!!!8217;m wasting my time, he comes back apologetic - just returned from holiday etc and tells me Halifax wouldn!!!8217;t handle as credit was too high (even though it!!!8217;s being written off through remortgage) then recommend accord! Application is out through to them straight away!
16th - accord accept us and a case is set up!!
18th - accord request bank statements for last 3months to compare salary mentioned on payslips!
Accord did a soft check on the 16th and a hard check is showing as being done on the 17th so I am hoping this is a good thing - I do know accord want the ins and outs of everything - or so I understand from comments on other threads - but fingers crossed all the same!!0 -
I!!!8217;m joining in as well - mortgage broker will complete the application tomorrow and then the waiting game starts! As part of the AIP Nationwide have asked for payslips (13 from hubby as paid weekly + evidence of pension contributions as he will be over 74 at the end of the mortgage, last payslip only for me) and one bank statement from each of us.
Most worried about the evaluation at the moment.
Fingers crossed everyone!0 -
Can I wade in? Mortgage was approved and offer came through last week, but I'm expecting anything remotely crap to happen with it until we get the keys!
Good luck to everyone else, FTB'ing is a stressful thing isnt it?0 -

JoshyBC we are with platform at the minute and have been with them since 2008 - would quite happily remortgage with them however we want to lend extra which they do not offer - at least not on this occasion anyway - good luck0

I applied with Nationwide via a broker on 25 July, my valuation was booked for 8 August, and they issued my mortgage offer the same day. I can't fault them, they were so fast. I was most worried about the valuation too so it was great to hear back the same day. Good luck!0 -
I'm applying through Natwest via a broker.
15/08- offer accepted
16/08 - argy bargy as the property was on with 2 estate agents and the vendor refused to take it down with the other EA and was still accepting viewings. As the condition of the offer was to remove from both EAs i went ape and threatened to withdraw my offer. He did what i said then but demanded i had a mortgage valuation the next week.
17/08- Application has been submitted and valuation confirmed for Tuesday of the next week. Vendor got his wish.
21/08- valuation completed. Natwest need proof of my ID, potentially because i got married and have 2 names depending on where you look.
That's where we stand now. Whilst i think so far has been quite quick, i'm still nervous. My last mortgage application was 7.5 years ago!Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000
Mortgage 2: £270,000😱 Jan 2019 £253,000 April 20200 -
The saga continues..
16/07 DIP approved
19/07 Full application sent off in branch, pay slips and gifted deposit form supplied
19/07 Valuation booked in
20/07 Bank Statement requested
23/07 Valuation carried out
23/07 Additional bank statements requested and letter from Dad showing how his gift will be used to clear credit card/car loan
26/07 Phoned to chase valuation, NW confirm it has been received along with additional documents and have been sent back for review
27/07 Nationwide underwriters decline application
02/08 Natwest Application submitted, ID and documents uploaded
03/08 ID and documents reviewed
07/08 Valuation report received
08/08 Natwest underwriters decline application
14/08 TSB AIP/Mortgage Promise approved
17/08 Full application with TSB submitted, a couple of additional docs requested
21/08 Additional docs supplied
Just typical that during our house purchase that fell through last year, the mortgage part absolutely sailed through. This time we've lost a month to it, despite having improved circumstances and credit ratings/reports. Hopefully TSB works out for us!0
