Second time round for us, put in app with Halifax after AIP approved at the end of October but full app was declined then our vendors lost the house they were buying so we've been waiting for the chain to reform.

28/10 - Offer accepted on house
--- Lots of bad things happened, waiting game for chain to reform ---
12/3 - Chain reformed and now complete, contacted Mortgage advisor and solicitor.
20/3 - AIP approved by Kensington
    21/3 - Full app submitted
26/3 - Meeting with mortgage advisor to sign docs and pay survey fees

Waiting waiting waiting. Mortgage advisor said it would be about 3 days before we'd hear back on assessment (this was on thurs) so sitting crossing my fingers!
If it doesn’t move, and it should, use WD-40. If it moves, and it shouldn’t, use duct tape!

got a call from Mb this morning 10 AM saying application has passed and has gone to final underwriting checks and should hear about survey today! naturally i thought that's great news. At 4:20pm he called me back and said the bank will offer me £194,000 and not the £200,000 that we got AIP for! how does that happen? We have had to send my partners feb payslip also now and hes appealing the decision.I don't feel confident at all now :(

Very stressful time for you, fingers X'd all goes ok with appeal. :)

    22/1 AIP from broker
    21/2 first viewing
    23/2 second viewing
    24/2 Offer made and accepted
26/2 Mortgage application put in with broker
28/2 Solicitors ready to go and mortgage application is with Santander
2/3 Application acknowledged by Santander and passed to admin queue
7/3 more docs requested, pushed to back of admn queue
12/3 doc rejected as broker hadn't put case number on. Resubmitted.back of queue.
20/3-28/3 lots of !!!!!!ing around, requesting blank page of payslip and us threatening to sack broker and call whole thing off. Seller getting slightly twitchy. Take a gamble and instruct separate homebuyers to reassure.

And today.....finally......application approved subject to valuation :T

Survey and valuation will be this week and Solicitor says we are on track to exchange to our agreed timescales (no chain).

I need a very large vodka and tonic after all that!

My broker confirmed on Mon that underwriting was fine, and the amount applied for was acceptable. Now just pending valuation! Seller has called me this morning to say that this is being done Friday.

Made the decision with my Sol that I wouldnt incur search fees until the mortgage offer is approved.

Fingers, toes and everything else crossed that it all goes to plan (eeeeeeek!) and that I can move beginning of May.

Good luck to all you other home buyers - I now understand why they say this is the most stressful time of your life! I certainly wasnt this stressed first time round!

Can't fault speed now as agreed yesterday afternoon, valuation this morning and offered this afternoon! Phew! Waiting for DH to get home as he is the one in contact with broker and he is in a meeting, but can anyone reassure me that if the offer is in the post then there were no problems with the valuation or the broker would have said? The offer isn't going to arrive being 20k less or something?

    I'm such a worrier! :p
