  • Good evening,

I received my mortgage offer yesterday. My MB choose Santander.
    DIP 29/05
I received an SMS from Santander on 15/06
Then was 4 weeks of questions and requesting document.
14/07 - Underwriter agreed subject to satisfactory valuation, Valuation booked on 29/07

    29/07 - Cancellation , rebooked on 3rd of August

3/08 - Cancellation, rebooked on 10th of August

    10/08 - Cancellation again, final date 13th

    13/08 - Valuation done

21/08 - Report was sent to Santander

    01/9 - Mortgage offer issued

    What a wait, what a stress! I am on cloud 9 !!!!!

Even longer than me! The back and forth with questions is driving me mad. Our valuation was on 12th Aug, haven't heard anything back about it.  Just questions, questions, questions. And each time it goes back to a week wait. If they ask for anything next week rather than just saying yes or no I think I will be lose it.
We are in the same boat with Santander, application on the 22/7, valuation 17/8 and nothing but more questions since! Going absolutely loopy

  • Good morning
my broker applied via Santander. Below is my timeline.

    Application submitted31/07/2020 12:21
    Valuation instructed31/07/2020 16:42
    Valuation Received31/07/2020 16:46
    Passed to Underwriting03/08/2020

14/08/2020 Additional information requested regarding projections for 2021 (SE) query regarding my profits for pass 2 years, this needed to be done by accountants. The effect of Covid on my business and proof of deposit. I bank with Santander so not sure why they needed this, as business, savings and personal accounts are with them.
27/08/2020 all the requested information submitted. Still waiting for an outcome. My accountants were slow in acting hence the delay of financial documents.
Broker called yesterday 03/09 and said they are working on 25/09 despite their tracker claiming otherwise.
    The wait is killing me.

I had my timeline on a different thread but thought i'd post it here for people's interest. Me and my partner are FTB's with 10% deposit.

    Offer accepted on house: 10/7
Broker tried to submit application with HSBC: 13/7>
Went directly to HSBC, AIP done: 17/8
    Phone application with advisor: 19/8
    Application submitted/hard credit search: 20/8
    Valuation completed: 2/9
    Mortgage offer: 4/9

Very impressed how quick it was after I switched from broker to direct, especially considering my partner is on part time furlough where they would only consider her 3 days pay and not the other 2 furlough days she gets! I've also had to take a 10% salary deferral until April 2021.

Absolutely over the moon, such a stressful period, especially due to covid............Just hope there's nothing surprising in the survey next week so we can exchange asap

  • Mortgage offer came in to broker yesterday!!! So relieved.
I'm FTB buying house I am renting. Lease expired yesterday!

    Haliax DIP 26 August
Submitted 27 Aug and valuation fee taken
    Offer made 3 September
    04.06.12 no debt:beer:
Now house deposit saving £24,000 and rising:T thanks to 2x Barclays PPI successes
  • Just had an update from our broker. Underwriter has passed the application for final checks which take 24-48 hours. We should hopefully hear good news on Monday or Tuesday next week. Application went in on the 4th of Aug. Another nail-biting weekend, but feeling more positive.
    FTBuyers, 85% LTV, 3 bed semi-detached.
  • Had our physical valuation last Monday, were told unofficially that the mortgage was agreed on the phone but had to get through the sign-off backlog..  had the formal offer today!

Still nothing from Nationwide. Working day 18
    Nationwide mortgage application (FTB)
Offer accepted on flat - 7/8
    DIP - 10/8
    Full application - 10/8
    Valuation Booked - 11/8
    Valuation received/approved -17/8
    Hard search (Equifax) - 20/8
    Offer received - 28/9

  • Just had an offer from HSBC (this has been going on since July...)
The house I want to purchase was down valued so the difference between the purchase price and the valuation £10k is made up of my savings and a gift. The HSBC offer does not mention and I see the conditions say it has to be funded from own resources unless agreed otherwise (I verbally told them this was the case). Does anyone know if it should be a mortgage condition or what otherwise agreed means (an email?)
