Very frustrating! I was wondering how you were getting on. On their website it says 12 days from application to decision, this has reduced from the 15 it was when we applied. Monday is our day 12 so fingers crossed.Lancs1234 said:
We are still waiting with Accord - I think they've allowed far too many applications to be submitted and have got way behind.SierraRomeo30 said:Congrats all with offers!!
We’re still waiting...it’s driving me nuts. Our MB says all is looking fine at the moment but it’s frustrating waiting with no news.
We've had a few issues with overtime but I'm led to believe these are sorted and we are awaiting a valuation report (they did the valuation on the 18th June but said they suspended the report due to the issues we had). They indicated current turnaround time for that would be about 6 working days. Tomorrow is 6 working days so fingers crossed. 31 days have now passed since we put the application in (24 working days) it seems like forever.0 -
I GOT MY MORTGAGE APPROVED BY SKIPTON!
i am ecstatic - I joined this forum when the page numbers were in the late 900s and now the page is on 1026 if that even makes sense!
good luck to everyone waiting - the acceptance message makes all the horrible waiting worth it

Amazing news @xx_ms@xx_mstilda_xx! So happy for you.... come on @Jamaicanmelaff! I'm just lurking here because I am waiting for your great news too! heheJamaicanmelaff said:
Have only just seen this. Thank you, @heston2014 and @xx_mstilda_xx - I'm a bit less panicked now that some things seem to be moving a bit. Also had a damp and timber report back (when I viewed in March is was just after the storms and there was a big damp patch in the kitchen so I made my offer contingent on that being caused by the damaged render and nothing more serious), no major issues. 2 small areas of rising damp with a suggested cost of £200 to repair and the damp on the wall was caused by the render so really happy about that. Hoping I'll be able to get the searches and surveys done soon so I can get in there.xx_mstilda_xx said:
Great news that there is finally some news @Jamaicanmelaff ! Hopefully you'll be sorted shortly 😁heston2014 said:
Yay! Glad to hear your application is progressing finally! hehe Not long now, I'm rooting for you! :-) Good luck with the valuation and all the rest of it.Jamaicanmelaff said:
I’m not gonna lie, I tried so hard to put it out of my mind and be patient but it’s really been stressing me out. I thought it wasn’t normal that it was sat in a queue for 4 weeks but they kept telling me otherwise. Ah well, luckily my seller is patient (given she accepted my offer 4 months ago, she’d have to be!) and the BDM has instructed my valuation so hopefully not much longer to wait now and I can move on to the next steps. Hopefully they go smoothly!fiision2020 said:
Glad to hear that your application has made some progress. What a nightmare however having that 4 week delay because they had to upload to an older portal. My application is with the underwriting team for just over a week and I'm stressing out; I don't know if my heart will last another week let alone another 3.Jamaicanmelaff said:I have an update... HSBC said that "my application is with the underwriters and they will hopefully make their decision by Friday and instruct the valuation if all is OK." This is exactly the same update they gave last week, but apparently last week it was with the normal underwriting team and this week it is being checked by the senior underwriters because I'm self-employed, but all looks good on the docs so it's just waiting for approval. It turns out, however, that the long delay wasn't because my application was waiting in a 4-week queue for the underwriters as they claimed every time they were chased for an update, but because it wasn't actually in the queue at all - because I'm self-employed and my income is foreign, my application had to go in under their old legacy portal and documents were uploaded to that rather than their current portal, some error meant the additional documents never made it to the queue, despite the fact that my broker also emailed them. My broker is now contacting the BDM to escalate the case and get the valuation booked in alongside the underwriting process to try and speed things up.
Fingers crosses yours doesn’t take too long!
I chased our MB yesterday who spoke to HSBC for an update - apparently some unnecessary ID tasks were generated on our case (which are not needed as ID has been satisfied) and it can take up to another week for them to be cleared down and the offer issued... >_<
Good luck to everyone still waiting! Just keep that bottle of bubbly chilled and ready!

Self employed here and applied with Halifax via Broker.
20th June - MIP
22nd June - Income documents submitted along with Mortgage APP
26th June - Underwriters rejected PDF SA302 and requested scanned copies of the printed version (no difference at all).
27th June - Submitted newly requested versions
9th July - Valuation Instructed
16th July - Valuation and survey
16th July - Mortgage approved
Well today the mortgage got approved and the valuation that I was worrying about so much was valued at offer price. Such a relief, super excited to exchange now whenever that’ll be!
Always find comparables. You can ask, but you won’t always get what you want.

Weeeeeelll... you won’t need to lurk much longer! The BDM gave them a right kick up the !!!!!! so they apparently did a digital valuation yesterday (for 25,000 more than I am paying, so bonus!) and I got my mortgage offer this evening. So this absolute beauty is now well on its way to being mine. Thank you so much for your support over the last few weeks, you’ve helped me hold on to the last of my sanity!heston2014 said:
