  • Congrats all with offers!!

We’re still waiting...it’s driving me nuts. Our MB says all is looking fine at the moment but it’s frustrating waiting with no news.
Same boat... I called today and he said it's all looking good, we just heard that the valuation come back bang on the price we have agreed so now just waiting for underwriter to do his job and we will have the offer next week! I am going crazy, it is now the third weekend I have been desperately waiting for the mortgage offer now :(
  • I will be honest, I think the chasing helped! I know someone mentioned it on here before!
If I hadn't have rang up on the 9th July, I could have been waiting a lot longer as they just wanted me to answer 1 question but they never rang to ask me!
Hang in there & good luck :)

We are still waiting with Accord - I think they've allowed far too many applications to be submitted and have got way behind.

We've had a few issues with overtime but I'm led to believe these are sorted and we are awaiting a valuation report (they did the valuation on the 18th June but said they suspended the report due to the issues we had). They indicated current turnaround time for that would be about 6 working days. Tomorrow is 6 working days so fingers crossed. 31 days have now passed since we put the application in (24 working days) it seems like forever.

For our application in more detail, we have gone through a broker and here is the timeline:
    AIP/DIP - 29.06.2020
    Application submitted - 02.07.2020
    Additional documents requested - 06.07.2020
    Valuation requested - 10.07.2020
Valuation due to take place - 15.07.2020
Update: Valuation results came back in 16.07.2020 and we are bang on the price! MB said Tuesday/Wednesday for final mortgage offer now (but still going through underwriting...)

Anybody else waiting for Bank of Ireland? Our application was submitted by a broker on Thursday 2 July, additional documents sent on Monday 6 July. on Friday last week the estate agent rang to say the valuation had been booked for Wednesday 15 July... Should we expect to hear this week?
I am also waiting on BOI. Submitted 26/6, valuation completed 1/7, MB told me valuation was passed for expected amount 7/7 - and nothing since!
I am also a FTB and the wait is killlllling me!
MB told me today that my application is with a senior underwriter - which is very worrying - a few minutes later my solicitor rings me to let me know they've been taken off the approved panel. Along with likely delays, I now have to instruct a new solicitor and deal with whatever the senior underwriter throws at me :(
If I get this mortgage I am never moving again - too stressful haha

That's a shame! We are with Premier Property Lawyer and they are on the panel of BOI, so far the service has been excellent (only two weeks since instruction but they have sorted absolutely everything very quickly and replied to our concerns timely too!) I don't know about senior underwriter but ours is also awaiting review so fingers and toes crossed! Did your MB seem confident?

Mortgage application submitted through broker on 18th June.
Valuation on 2nd July, down valued.. little bit of offer change later application amended.

July 16th - official mortgage offer! 😅 that has been a stressful wait!
  • Question for successful Halifax applicants... Our MB told us last Wednesday that our application was successful, and we'd get an official offer by post within a few days. But we've still not received anything... So, how long did it take other people in a similar situation?
  • Anyone got the mortgage offer recently (self employed)? And which documents they asked other than SA302? We already send last 6 months bank statements today . I’m waiting for the valuation..

I am terrible at waiting. Documents submitted to broker end of last week and to HSBC on Monday, the broker said she'll update me tomorrow with any developments (valuation date, initial review of documents etc). In the meantime the survey has been pushed back by ten days due to staff sickness and the solicitor isn't answering emails - I'm so bad at this waiting and being patient stuff!
