Thanks to the wonderful NiftyDigits I am now running Windows 7 after a Clean Install. A few minor hiccups along the way, but got there in the end.

The Windows Updates took over 5 hours to download and install. However it only took half an hour to install the programmes I wanted to keep as I had them downloaded in my back up.

A huge bonus is that I am able to upgrade the RAM from 4GB to 8GB and have just ordered the new modules.

I will be able to buy the latest Office from work under the Employee Access Programme so can't use any Office programmes until I do that as I don't want to install Office 2007 temporarily.

It feels like a new machine already and I am so grateful to NiftyDigits for his time and patience.
