Card statement? Bank statement?
If not, then just say that you have no proof and if they are not willing to take your word, then send you a POPLA code plus photographs.
Is this for an overstay or not paying for a ticket or parking outside a bay ?. Also might help if you say where as some MSE members may have local experience.
If it is Aldi, then Aldi say you can appeal to their customer services n line.

Oh come on, read some threads, please don't just post as if your case is a one-off and you seem to think you are stuffed.
Sorry but you are posting like a victim with no clue what to do, on a forum with info everywhere about exactly what to do! EVERY THREAD IS LIKE YOURS; YOU ONLY HAVE TO SKIM-READ A FEW TO KNOW WHAT TO DO. Your case is not difficult to get the stupid fake PCN cancelled by POPLA like everyone else does. Don't know what POPLA is?...haven't read enough threads (start at page 1 and just read threads about ANY private parking company charge, any at all that talk about appeals...).
Reply in writing/email and say you paid in cash so cannot prove your patronage of the shops and certainly never expected to have to do so. However, you feel that the charge is unfair and you certainly feel that the signs were not clear enough, and the amount is a penalty which is not related to any 'loss' by them or their retail/landowner client. Say that if they reject your appeal (originally made weeks ago) you require a POPLA code of course.
Send it immediately. It's a shame you sent a challenge at first that had no real substance of appeal to it 'it's punitive' is NOT ENOUGH to get a POPLA code in every case - which is what we have been saying on threads. Unclear signage is always a good one, as is 'no loss'. You would have found that from reading other threads.
Tell us when you get your POPLA code and PLEASE read threads about POPLA appeals now, while you are waiting. No more panicked replies without a clue what to do when in fact your questions are answered by almost every thread on the entire parking forum. We can help you to tweak a draft POPLA appeal that you will write, when you get to that stage. Easy when you read other threads and find examples of POPLA appeals...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
