Nicely done, IMHO. Just 2 small points:

''complaint with legal and BPA requirements'' should be ''compliant with legal and BPA requirements''

    and

''I request that POPLA check the Operator's evidence and signage map/photos on this point and compare the signs to the BPA Code of Practice requirements.'' was a sentence written by me months ago - but has rightly been critiqued by others who have quite rightly said 'it's not for POPLA to check'. It's for the Operator to prove.

So maybe ''I put the Operator to strict proof to show - with evidence including contemporaneous (dated and authenticated) signage map and photos from this car park - how they contend their very high/unreadable signs can possibly meet the BPA Code of Practice requirements.''

  • Brilliant, thanks for that. Sending it off tonight as going away for a while.

Will keep people up to date here when I get a reply.

Thanks everyone for your help, no way I could've done this without this forum!

Be prepared for around a 2-months delay in having a result from POPLA. Snowed under (which we might be weather-wise by then) with so many appeals to deal with.

Relax now, nothing more you can do, sip the beer and smell the roses (or something like that :))

Well done you, and particular kudos to Coupon-mad :T

Is there an email I can send it to?

I suspect this might be warning you that the submission is too long and will be truncated, ie it will be cut off at the maximum allowed characters in your submission.

Can you convert your appeal to a pdf document and attach it to an email and send it that way (make sure you have all the documents cross referenced with your 10-digit POPLA code).

Good point GD, make absolutely sure OP every base is covered. Leave no excuse for POPLA to be able to conveniently off load a case from their ever growing backlog mountain :)

    Nope.

If you had read other threads like yours I would have hoped you would have seen by now that we advise every day that POPLA appeals don't fit in the online box if the wording is long. And that their website is not compatible with certain browsers either. You only have to attach it as a PDF instead, surely, if the box allows attachments.

If you post a POPLA appeal you have to staple a POPLA form to the appeal, as page one. Tick 3 out of 4 appeal grounds boxes (just not the 'stolen car' one).

  • Just got back from my weekend away so couldn't reply to you guys. There was nowhere to attach a file on their website. Not a very helpful website at all to be honest.

I emailed it to their enquiries the other day and have just attached it as a document on another email. Will be posting it tomorrow as well but that will get there after the 28 days now.

We'll see what happens but thanks for all the help, I'll keep you updated on the result when I eventually get it!

Couldn't you simply have attached a PDF link in the actual word-count box, with a one-liner explaining 'please see PDF attached for my full appeal, POPLA please email me if this PDF link is not readable'...as discussed here? One of lots of threads about this and no-one has said they couldn't do this?

Really hope you haven't missed your deadline.
