Automatics..... My son says 'point and go'. He's not had a driving lesson yet.
Hubby will only buy automatics. He's got arthritis in his knees and one ankle. The result of an accident he had at work 10 years ago. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Afternoon all
LameWolf sorry to hear about Mary. I'm sure you were a good friend to her.
Jackie O good luck at the hospital appointment.
Well it's hot here again. I have been doing the housework this morning and 3 loads of washing.
OH has spent the day so far cleaning the cars. Before redundancy/retirement he used to spend £5 per car at the car cleaning place. I made sure he has a hat and suncream on, with plenty of drinks. I think he likes playing with the hosepipe!
Yesterday I only did a short shift at the food bank as we went out for lunch with friends and then took a trip to the Somerset Lavender Farm. We had the most amazing chips with our lunch-the best I have ever eaten. OH "helped me out" he as I couldn't eat them all.
Well have a good afternoon and keep cool.

Thank you everyone for the flea advice. :A I will get myself off to the vets tomorrow to see about getting a flea spray for the house. I will have to take the kittens to my daughters for the day, I'm sure they will enjoy having a new environment to destroy!:D0

Afternoon all,
just a very very quick one as I am running out the door.
LW so sorry to hear about Mary.
So hot here
Overslept (by 10 minutes) today, rushed to get everything done - ran out for my bus lifting some of bf's breakfast biscuits them completely forgot about food and water altogether as soon as I sat down at work!
I didn't eat until gone 2.50pm and that was only because I made myself eat something so I didn't collapse! I have since had my little salad and 750ml of water.
Off to currys to check the dimensions of a new fridge (big swanky American style) which we want but also need as it would appear ours is giving up the fight. It's not even that cold anymore! no wonder milk/food doesn't last in our house.
We are going to invest in a bigger one to enable me to shop once a month as well as for a few other reasons!
Off to the cinema to see the new monsters inc film - hope its as good and as funny as the rest. This bad weather has left me feeling pants and bf is grouchy as anything when too hot and sticky and tired!
tomorrow we are off to the coast but I will check in later tonight and catch up with everyone and then pop by in the morning.
Working on my August budget tonight - hopefully it will all balance out with my upcoming trip!************************************

Hi chums well managed to get 4 super duper garden chairs for DD at the Dobbies sale I was there bang on the dot of nine to make sure .They are really nice ones reduced to £15.00 each from £50.00 each Plastic coated steel so virtually indestructable no more split green plastic chairs that pinch bit of the unwary when you sit down in them. Then spent the next 3 hours being poked prodded vampired and fried with sensors at the pre assessmant ward .All is fine and I just have to see my consultant on 6th August and hopefully he will give me a date for my op.Apparently it takes 4-5 hours so a nice long sleep for me
:) and I will be bionic with a matching pair of baps( well at least a new one on the right hand side
:))when I wake up.I saw the anaethestist and she was quite happy with all the test results so its just one more appointment then a fortnights holiday and wait for the letter.
A little cooler tonight as there is a very nice breeze blowing at the moment.I have a couple of sweet potatos that I fancy with some grated cheese for a light dinner later Too hot to eat much just yet.Still lots of fruti and veg is good for you.
Have a good evening everyone

Well its cooled down a bit here. Hubby has come home suffering with heat stroke.
"Did you have any paracetamol?" Was the first thing I asked him.
"No" he answered.
He knows what he's like in the heat and he knows that paracetamol is the only thing that helps him overcome it.
I wouldn't mind but I put a new strip of tablets in his bag the weekend.:mad:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Evening!
Had a really nice time at Bluewater yesterday. We had lunch at Pizza Express, sitting outside under a parasol, it was very pleasant.
Not so pleasant today, as I was at work. Although it wasn't as bad as some days. But I'm not particularly looking forward to tomorrow. They've put me on a job role, that I haven't dome for six months, and even then, I was only doing it for a couple of days. So I really can't remember what to do. Also, it's the 'summer party', when there's a big BBQ outside, so everyone will be going off to that, whereas I will look in for about 15 minutes as I'll need toget back to work as I'll be really slow and uncertain.
I'm only doing this job for the one day, but it's probably the worst day as I won't be able to relax and enjoy the BBQ. IT's typical of that place!
JackieO glad your appointments are going well.
Also best wishes for Julie, Judi and LWEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Evening everyone
Didn't manage to post yesterday. Only 1 1/2 days do at work then the holidays, worst part is knowing my last day is a full day. The kids I work with are mainly year 6 and I think they are all ready for going to secondary school. Went out for dinner tonight with my friend and her boy to pizza express, not that cheap even with a voucher code.
os today kitchen cleaned, managed to get my favourite white skirt cleaned as I had spilt some oil based chorizo coloured food on to it. I started with washing up liquid, then soaked overnight in cold water, then vanished the stain and soaked again in cold water overnight. then used vanish prewash soaked again, then thought it had come out so washed in machine, only to find a very light stain left. so back in prewash vanish, scrubbed again with vanish soap and now a lovely white skirt again. It definitely took some effort. Need to sort out my room of doom before my db, sil and dn visit next week, just find that its too hot to do anything when I finish work in the afternoon as the room gets the sun.
Only 2 weeks to my holiday in Minorca, cant wait just need to get my holiday clothes sorted. Need to get ds2 more t/shirt and shorts and some beach shoes, he is only 13 doesn't seem to stop growing and is now in adult size 8 shoes.
LW - sorry to hear about mary
Jackie - well done on your new chairs for your dd.
Judi - such sad news.
Julie - hope they manage to get your knee sorted for you.
Redruby - hope little dogs eye improves.
Beemuzed - thinking of you.
Hilstep - hope you are managing to rest.
Anyone seen bargainbird?
Sorry if I have missed anyone. Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take Care.0
