The Digital Outreach Team kept the RH Ann Clwyd's report very quiet, or was it meant to be secret.
Whichever this is hardly promoting public engagement - part of DOT's mission statement.

    Hi Oneye14

Regarding your comments concerning the report on the Parliamentary Ombudsman written by Ann Clywd MP – the review was conducted at the request of the Prime Minister and hence is not business of the House of Commons – this is why we have not highlighted the review – the House of Commons is separate from the Government and its principle role is to scrutinise the work of the Executive.

Further, the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman in itself is a separate institution from the House of Commons (despite the name) - we are here to promote awareness of the business of the House of Commons and where debates or inquiries in the Commons may cover this topic we may well highlight it on this forum if it is deemed of interest to forum members but in the wider sense of the Ombudsman’s management, function and performance, again, it is outside of our remit to comment on.

    Thank you for your comments
    Best wishes

    This thread Post #7 ..
    - For the Speaker of the House the RH Mr John Bercow for being complicit in such activities.

Parliament UK Website confirms the Speaker is part of the HOC.

Is this in DOT's remit to comment on ?

Perhaps they will when you provide them with details of what "activities" Bercow has been "complicit" with.

Try re-reading from the first post but the following may help:

    For the avoidance of doubt:
The Parliamentary Commissioner and Health Ombudsman is the same person..

see here Parliament-Remote and Out of Touch

    Quote:
The complainant has recently drafted a Parliamentary Petition, suggesting the Parliamentary Ombudsman should not 'conspire' with the Government Departments that she has been asked to investigate. (A point already admitted).
    Join the club .....

The Ombudsman may be a separate institution but Reports Directly to Parliament..

    No..

There is something odd with both the above..
Perhaps DOT should publish what Parliamentary business DOT has no remit for ...

    Finally:-
....concerning the report on the Parliamentary Ombudsman written by Ann Clywd MP – the review was conducted at the request of the Prime Minister
The PM may have influence over Ann Clywd MP but no power over the Ombudsman - furthermore Ann Clywd MP is stonewalling over her remit from the PM ..
Perhaps her reporting is meant to be secret !

Well yes, you never know, it's always possible that you might (in an unguarded moment) be induced to provide at lease some clues to the substance (if any) lurking behind your accusations.

I know it's unlikely. But hope springs eternal and all that. :rotfl:
