  • Can't you set it up to disable in-app purchases like you can on an iOS device? Or set up a password for purchases?
My wife has an Android device but I don't use it so i'm not sure but i'll bet there is a way to do that.

I'm sure you need a card to use Google Play in general, but I may be wrong. While some apps charge you money to buy them there are also a lot of "free" apps that will charge for purchases made within them. Perhaps this concept should maybe be explained to your son to prevent something like this happening again. What did he get for the £40?

No card is required, i have never had any card connected to my google play account.
Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j

These in-app purchases are a sleight of hand to get you to part with your money without realising.

Beware of the "free" apps which have IAPs.

If the remove option is not there, have you asked if the card is considered to have pending payments, as that could be why

You usually need to enter a password before purchasing apps/dlc as default, did you turn this off?

What did think otherwise? That they were written by charities and given away out of the goodness of their heart?

Here's how you can set up password protection for purchases on the Google Play Store.

Open the Google Play Store app
    Press Menu, then tap Settings
Under "User controls," check the box next to Password - Use password to restrict purchases.
