Think yourself lucky it's only curtains, our first cat used to run up oh's clothes when he was on the phone to me, oh called me one morning wearing just his knickers all I could hear was OOOOO, AHHHHHHHHH, EEEEEEE, oh's body was covered in claw marks when I got home, they were on his back, his shoulders, his leg and his bum :rotfl::rotfl:

You can make a very MSE climbing pole for her out of an offcut of carpet and the inner roll tube that carpet comes on. Staple and glue the carpet to the pole and then fix it floor to ceiling...I have literally just jammed mine into place. Cats love it!

I remember when I got my first kitten, I had not long moved into my first home and had bought lovely net curtains. My sweet kitty climbed every single one, ripped a big hole in each and then never touched them again!

She also destroyed a sofa and I have lost count of the number of rugs ruined. I did work out though, that a massive scratching post (we built our own from a wood post covered in carpet) solved many of her destructive tendencies.

Now she delights in regurgitating hair balls on the bed and has an elevator bum when she uses the tray. But I wouldn't be without her (or my other 3 terrors) for the world.:)

This isn't what you want to hear, but mine was still doing this regularly at 8yrs old. Shredded several sets of curtains, broke numerous poles as she got bigger, net curtains are like a magnet. I've just moved and now have those vertical blinds....she loves those, and ran up the same curtains she's seen for two years and hadn't touched......she's now around 12.

I just gave up and ignored it all...(and a bit of me couldn't help giggling at her enjoying herself).

Good luck though, maybe yours will grow out of it, lots do.

Oh and if you have a ceiling fan watch out for that when a bit older.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

If you get a big tree try and use rope or string and nail it to a wall....preferably two if you can place it in a corner. When I had two kitten same age they literally ran up a big tree and whole thing would be over and trashed.....lol
