Royal Mail, very rarely return it to the depot, it is now delivered to a neighbour unless you put a note on the door telling them otherwise, Couriers don't usually deliver on a Saturday. Unless you pay the extra, I would send an email to the seller, but I can't see you having any luck, as you have a POD the police are the only answer.

Royal Mail never leave stuff with a neighbour in my area. I heard/read the were trialling it in selected areas though.

The trial period for the delivery to neighbour system has finished, and as from October last year the service should be getting used throughout the UK.

I'm pretty sure you are protected if you paid via Paypal. As far as I remember you have up to 45 days to claim for non delivery of goods.

It's a tricky one, as the seller has a signed delivery, so could win an Ebay dispute.

Nevertheless, I'd open a dispute, and say that the parcel was not delivered to YOU, as you can prove you were not there on that day, so you'd like a replacement sending. I'd even point out that their own courier admits delivering it to the wrong person.

I'd then PHONE ebay to explain the case, and point out the previous email about you going to collect it as you'd be at work during the week.

I'd then go see the neighbour again, and explain that he signed for your parcel, so would it be possible to have it. If he refuses, then contact the police for theft.

Hopefully one of these avenues will get you your parcel back or a refund!

Ultimately, the seller is at fault, but they are likely to hide behind Ebay rules. If they don't cooperate and you lose the dispute, leave bad feedback, then you might have to send a letter before action to the seller.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

That seems a little silly. How far away from the actual delivery address does an item need to be delivered before one has any rights (in Paypal) for a refund?

If it goes to a neighbour, that's all good apparently. But what if it is a house at the bottom of the street, or the street next to the street you live on, or just someone in the same town? It was signed for by someone (anyone) so tough?

Surely if the OP could prove it is not his signiture, and APC have confirmed it wasn't delivered to his confirmed paypal address he should be able to start a dispute and win and the seller should deal with APC/the police themselves?

I would go to the police with the POD because the courier wasn't to know that your neighbour wouldn't give it to you. There is a POD so the seller has done his part. Really if you knew that there would have been no one at home, you should have sorted out something yourself. Royal Mail, are now delivering to nieghbours, you will have a job proving different to ebay, because as far as they are concerned the seller has done his job.

Besides that, Couriers, and Royal Mail, do not deliver on Saturdays unless extra payment is made.

RM run a 6 day service regardless of service paid
SG for SD items is a premium added to ensure the item is prioritised in sorting
leave with neighbour has an opt out with RM

nor in my, it always goes back to the depot.

althou maybe its based on location, as the depot is on the same road as i live so its only a short walk to pick it up
