Stolen number plate replacement??
Comments

halfords might be able to, u need your v50

Ebay or your local car spares shop!0

Yes Halfords or similar should be able to do it with your V5.
One further point, it seems strange that only one plate was stolen, wonder if it was screwed on or glued? In the very hot weather it is not unheard of for glue to soften and number plates to become detached whilst driving.0 -
Local motor factors will be cheapest.
& make sure you get a crime number from the Police and KEEP IT!
I had my number plate stolen in a car park then got a bang on the door at 2am about 24 months later. A car with my number had been involved in a serious accident in central Manchester, 80 miles away from where the plate was stolen. I gave them the crime number but was still stopped 10 times in the next 4 weeks. I had to carry the crime number round with me and wait 10-20 minutes each time till they confirmed it..
I'm sure my experience is not normal, but just hold on to it just in case.0 -
Plenty of online shops selling number plates, last time I looked they were around £15-£20.
DO NOT be tempted into buying fancy one's, anything other than standard text and the GB side thing are illegal for road use (though in reality they only fail the MOT).
What I don't understand is:

Which is clearly not true at all......“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

As Johno100 suggests check that the other plate is secure.
Those sticky pads things can let go in hot weather.
Happened to me - one side of the plate was hanging off - kids I thought - but no - the glue on the pads had started to go soft.
Also beware of them trying to sell you a pair of plates when you only need the one.
I needed a plate for a caravan and had to try a couple of places - crazy!0 -

Your telling me!!!
They also come off on very cold days, as I found out when I parked in front of a new mini on one very cold morning, the front plate was on the floor when I arrived, when I left the mini was gone and i'd been left fist sized dent in the boot lid......
I hope when they took the car to the dealership, they said "oh yeah that sometimes happens in cold weather".“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

read through the link as it states what you need to get the plate, you need to show ID as well as a log book. saves a wasted trip.Strider590 wrote: »Plenty of online shops selling number plates, last time I looked they were around £15-£20.

What is not true?
The online sellers don't ask for ID as they are selling show plates even if they do have the correct marks, postcode, etc to make it appear legal.0
