Also Gavin, i have just noticed from other posts that you have other children or step children with your new wife? S our first kid is already mising out on a portion of your income as you will be assessed CM after a deduction for the other children in your household.

Vouchers while may be a good idea in your head, and for the very very few parents that are not putting the children 1st, are NOT a good idea...

How do you propose that the system be implemented...???

Every high street shop, internet store, service provider in the country would have to be required to take them...!!! And lets face it, that is never in a million years going to happen...!!!

More over, don;t you think that the person you thought responsible enough to have and care for your child (before it went wrong) is sensible enough to be able to prioritise the money in a way that enables them to provide for a child with only 15% of your income, just think, if you had 2 children it would be 10% or 3 and they get 8% each, so while for the 3 it is 25% you get 75% for just you, and you can bet the PWC doesn't even get close to what your disposable income is...!!!

We all know how bad the CSA is, how many mistakes they make, and how often the y get it wrong and screw the NRP & the PWC, but to think SHE lives a better life than you, well that is downright bloody ridiculous... Some NRP's have no idea as to the true cost of raising a child...!!!

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2013/jan/24/cost-to-raise-a-child-compared-to-decade-ago

So lets look at the cost eh...

£222,000 for 21 years is what it is estimated now...

So if you really think you are hard done by, that means to be fair you must pay no less than £102 towards your child... And that is only half... And for that you get free childcare for pretty much the life of the child and still have your freedom... The PWC on the other hand, has to pay for a babysitter is s/he wants to go out, doesn't have the freedom to choose and is reliant on YOU making good on your obligations or will go without to make sure the child doesn't...

    Just a thought... ;)

have you tried benefit fraud reporting? whether or not they're interested in child benefit is anybody's guess but if by claiming child benefit she also has access to other benefits (tax credit, housing benefit) then you would think that the 'powers that be' would be interested. You will never know the outcome, but if you are sure the child benefit is being claimed fraudulently then you have nothing to lose.

Kevin,do you realise that a pwc can have 4 children to different nrp & have all those 15%'s X4 ,ch ben x4,housing ben ,council tax reduction, free school meals ,trips, free prescriptions, dental care for themselves. Is it right that a pwc gets several pounds a month more income with ctc & wtc than a man working full time gets before the CSA money comes out ! If the children are at the nrp's as in our case there is no need to get babysitters -she had every weekend free !

I don't need a lecture on the cost of looking after kids, I don't just care for my daughter I have looked after my step son since he was 12 (19) now.

I'm not saying that it wouldn't be easy to bring in a voucher scheme but well people are paid to work stuff out like that. Most people are good with money my ex isn't. she works 16 hours a week, the bloke she is with doesn't work at all.

I provide for my daughter she has a 2nd home here I can't do much more than that can I?

The pwc only has to work 16 hours to qualify for the wtc,ctc she gets.

I pay £210 a month from my wage for my daughter, I have her every other week for 3 nights. After the cost of me £££ having to fight my ex through the courts to see my own daughter who pays me that money back about 8K I think she got a better deal than me getting state funding for her case. I think I pretty much do well for my daughter both me and my wife work fulltime my ex gets £190 a month from her first child and £210 from me. there is no reason she can't work fulltime as her boyfriend doesn't work. I consider it an all you can get nation with some people

Good for you... That would be £102 a week... So you are not even close... ;)

And i know all about how CSA works and the cost to an NRP i was one for years, i have also have 2 step children, the difference is, we have shared care, a week with us a week with the father, and you can't claim in Norway with shared care, it works a completely different system where by BOTH parents pay, so if there is a difference about 20% between incomes, then the father would pay a small amount based on the shared aspect, but shared care is normal here, so it works better...

I am not saying you are a bad father, but complaining the way you are, doesn't resolve anything, and suggesting that vouchers which would be both humiliating and degrading to PWC's is insulting...

Oh, and while we are at it, you chose to have your child with this despicable woman, so she couldn't always of been that despicable could she...!!!

Yes i do know that, and it is a disgrace...!!!

Just go out to get pregnant and have a meal ticket for life...

For this reason benefits need to be capped at what is the norm, and certainly no more than 3 children, you get that much help, then if you can't support them, then tough...!!!

duchy,,, i am not a "new" partner, i have been round for 11 years, i did say at the beginning i was posting on behalf of my husband, he told me what to write i wrote it!!! So you are basically saying it is ok for my husband to support his ex partners household, bearing in mind his 19 and a half year old "CHILD" does not live there!!

I am all for supporting his daughter, however, she is not in education, and not living in the pwc household!!!

Everyone else, cant remember all names, thank you very much for your help and information, clearing out?? who mentioned reporting benefit fraud, we have done that last wk end, as we have been down this route before, and to be fair enough is enough.
