Genuine Question?
Well, I wouldn't buy a house without solar panels now. We've had ours nearly 2 years now and we love them. I think our electricity costs work out at approx. £7 a week now. That's a four bed detached house.0 -

Sheffield is a hot bed for solar (maybe close to 1in 15 houses), would be my estimation and a large percentage have rent a roof schemes.
It just seems that this issue of mortgages has been blown up out of all proportions D.Mail style when very very few folk will ever have an issue.
It reminds me of folk warning you not to have ice on your holiday. The rumour still goes around yet the issue was 20-30yrs ago.
Sheffield lad - I have solar panels (R-A-R) and love them. I also know loads of other people who have them and not one has said they wished they'd never had them.
There are some people out there who don't have them and they don't want anybody else to have them either for some bizarre reason. I would ignore their advice and speak to people who do have them and can talk from first hand experience.
As you say, these rumours get round about mortgages etc (bit like telling kids carrots will make them see in the dark!:rotfl:)
I had a long chat with the manager of our building society and she was very positive about them, likewise the estate agent who valued a house for us.0 -
Is it worth us speaking too our mortgage lender and appealing the decision
Or would we be banging our head against a brick wall0
