I'm going to giving myself a kick up the !!! and while the kids are off try to introduce more home cooked meals while I've got more time. The kids will only eat a few types of bed and would live on fish fingers dippers and pizza if I let them. They like brown pasta sausages and chicken also but I'm struggling as they don't like sauces or gravy. My first thing I'm gong to try them with is a simple pasta bake using a jar sauce as they like ketchup so I've told them its similar lol with chopped sausage peas and sweetcorn in it.
Flying wise not much today but hubby hoovered upstairs yesterday and washed Hoover filter which is still wet cos I left it out in the rain duhHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0 -
Happy Belated Birthday Froddy - sorry I'm late, was busy reconstructing my accounts spreadsheet, as the 'puter trashed it AND the backup.:( Luckily, I do a 2nd backup monthly, so only had to reconstruct from 21st June - time-consuming, but not 'orribly difficult.;)
Hoping poor Miss Moo is having a better time of it today. Thanks for the info re cherries, btw HB - I shall remember that for future reference.;)
Mr LW has dusted the entire bungalow:A so all the large dragons have had their bums wiped:rotfl: and Herr Beethoven (who resides on the bedroom windowsill) is now all dust-free He's still not smiling, though.:D
OK, time to let Sassy out for a wee, then get dins - pasta in cheese sauce today (Mr LW's request).;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Well a mixed first week flyladying
Great first 2 days...everything done and did some jobs I haven't done for ages. Been very busy all week since so dailies have been done and OH hoovered downstairs (needs doing twice a week thanks to doghair).
But downstairs does look better so overall positive, maybe I need ti focus on upstairs next week.
Thanks everyone for the kick up the bum to get some housework done!0 -
The cherry thing has always been pretty instant with me despite the fact that I've never heard of it being mentioned elsewhere. Worth a try, because who doesn't like cherries?
So much for the great plan to get out of cooking today. I've brunched the hungry males and am off to get a free range chicken to roast for tonight, plus the ingredients for high tea for 25 tomorrow - kedgeree, roast veg with feta for the veggies, followed by scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam as 'pudding.' We are in Devon, after all.
Lovely lodger is cleaning the lower level, has done two loads of washing and left the vacuum cleaner for me to do the ground floor. I've got three loads to do, after planning none for today, because I'll have three beds to change tomorrow. I think it vacuuming was on the list for Tuesday or Wednesday, so I will be catching up, after all. Not the plan at all for today!
Mrs Dog is taking to the chaos surprisingly well with the exception of falling completely and hopelessly in love with just about the only person in the extended group who genuinely does not like animals (different cultural background). She flings her nose into his crotch, shimmys her tail end at him and generally behaves like a complete trollop. Fortunately he's a very kind man, very quiet and beautifully mannered.Better is good enough.0 -
House is hoovered and mopped and I'm just going to spend a couple more minutes on here, then tackle the plants. Why is it that on a rare day when I fancy an ice cream, and have even got the money ready on the side, not one van has come round.....aaaghSpend less now, work less later.0

I bet piggers doesn't (or is allergic to them)
Sometimes the trick can be removing things from the diet rather than adding in. Bread and oats can be rather binding' for some.mummyroysof3 wrote: »I'm going to giving myself a kick up the !!! and while the kids are off try to introduce more home cooked meals while I've got more time. Good luck and share your successes. I want to add more dishes to our 'menu' too. Trying exchanging what they are used to with homemade version -
Cut chicken into chunks, roll in flour then beaten egg and coat in a mix of fresh breadcrumbs and crushed up cheese and onion chrisps. Oven bake. Very tasty and more filling.trulymadlydeeply_indebt! wrote: »

:j well done :T
I ate mine first thing, another tax return all done and in the post. Eating one early and firstjob of the day really helps I think. You have the entire day to feel smug and it often makes you do more things - I've now cut the hedge with DS2 which is another frog.
Time to put the washing on the line, make a cuppa an then clear up the clippings (DS2 can help wth that too)The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
two loads of washing on the line. Ironing board is still down - all up to date (insert very smug grin here!)
Soup made! It has been too hot for soup recently, but since the temperature has dropped I've made some more and it is lovely!
Been pushing the hoover round whilst the DD's chill - DD2 has had 2 late nights and is struggling with a bit of a sore throat - half expecting her to be ill as soon as the holidays start.
Next job (after soup consumption) is to clean up in the kitchen and head out to do a bit of shopping! Don't know what is for tea yet - nothing requiring too much effort I think.
The plan for the rest of the day is to be sorted by 8pm - all washing up done, recycling out, packups sorted so I can watch top Gear. Hoping to sneak looks at Test Match and golf as I progress this afternoon.
Bonus would be sitting down with a book...:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
