But where does it say it in the buyer's T&Cs?

What buyer T and Cs ? I do what eBay allow, not what my buyers dictate to me, actually I am quite nice and don't usually open an NPB until day 4 , but if more sellers go down the opening a case on day 2 route I may well change at some point in the future.

currently as I am trying to cut back on my time spent on eBay the majority of my listings are MVL with immediate payment required so I don't get many time wasters. I do get the very occasional buyer ask me if I will remove the immediate payment bit as they want the item but can't pay for a few days, but I ignore them.

I send a payment request on 4 days and file a NPB on the 8th day.

That is unless i receive a "sorry my dog bid in error" email - then i do it as soon as Ebay let me.

Why would it take you two days to pay for a buy it NOW item in the first place? Don't pay, no contact = NPB.

BUY IT NOW - one available and its late wednesday.

Someone wants it - but gets paid Friday.

Thats when it might take 2 days.

Must admit though - i only usually list BIN when i need the cash quicker. Then it goes and you think you have the money - and wait days for it.

Precisely - how can you demand that people comply with the unwritten rules?

You (and other sellers) are just making it up, and each person's perception of what a reasonable time is may not be the same.

If you put immediate payment, then it is there plain and simple.

If you don't, and there is no formal definition of when payment should be made, then it is simply opinion.

Up to buyer to message out of courtesy and inform the seller - if they've kept quiet, they've no right to be indignant when seller opens a non paying bidder report. Sellers aren't mind readers.

You cannot put immediate payment required on an auction , a seller can only protect their BINs in that way.

As for what is reasonable, a seller could easily start an NPB in day 2 and be in full agreement with eBay, so it really couldn't be clearer.

Well, in the end it's up to you how you want to do business and how you want to attract custom..
