I don't buy the argument that people will just assume the offer includes all the shirts and be caught out.

The average consumer is well aware that most offers have limits and exclusions and will look for information about what those are for an advertised offer.

If the information was there but you didn't bother to look you weren't 'taken' for a fool.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

I chose 3, went to the till and the total was £26. I questioned it and they told me that the striped tshirt, (top left), and the one below it wasn't part of the deal. If I'd had looked closely, (I'm a man, we don't), then i'd have noticed that the striped tshirts, even though the same material and style as the others, were actually a few £ more. If I had looked closely then I'd have worked it out pretty quickly.

My gripe is that it appears to the uneducated such as me that the whole wall is part of the offer. Not every rack that is included is marked. Some could think it's been done to catch a few out, who when at the till with a queue behind them will just fold and pay, (I grabbed an extra tshirt to complete the offer and kept the stripy one as well).

It's only a few £ but I don't like the way it's been done, it left a bad taste in my mouth as I don't like being taken for a fool.

I agree, it isn't that difficult to make pricing clear and shops which try and play games to get more money by upsetting customers do risk losing their longer-term customers.

My guess would be that stripes require either different looming or printing - not just dipping in a tank of stripey dye, hence being out of the offer.

Stripey dye would be cool, though.

The stripey tee's would be a different price point. The stripey Tee's don't have a graphic in them saying 3 for £18. I conclude the OP is a bit thick.

The plain ones are great colours- I may pick some up myself.

You miss the point, some of the non stripey t-shirts don't have the graphic but ARE included in the offer.

It looks to me like the far left, far right and centre of the offer area is marked. I would surmise that the white vests on the bottom row are not included either, quite clearly marked to my mind.

I am your average consumer, 2.3 kids, average salary, suburban semi etc etc. I'm right down the line on all things average, and it caught me so it's there to catch people, (IMO).

    I concur Jim.

They are included. It's just the stripy shirts. What does your mind say now? :D

It would be better if the signage was clearer, for instance to say that the 3 for £18 applies to items where the single price is £8 (or whatever it is) so you could know that the more expensive stripy ones are excluded. But I doubt if there are any rules that would make them do it, and you haven't really suffered a great deal by finding out at the the till what is and isn't excluded - and I reckon you've had a lucky escape as the stripy ones are not very cool.

What would have been super easy, is if they had just put the stripy ones on a different display, it's not rocket science.
