Have Burton's been a bit naughty?

Went into a Burton's store today as I was looking for some new Tshirts. I saw this display which is advertising 3 for £18, so I tried one on, liked it and grabbed 2 more, then headed to the till to pay.

As you can see from the display, the top line of Tshirts has the offer on every other rack, and the bottom line has 1 pictured and one nearly at the far end, (out of shot). I only took Tshirts from this wall, not the one you can see next to it.
They wouldn't let me have the 3 for £18. Can you see why?

Does the 3 for £18 sign say 'selected styles' or similar? Are some styles marked to show their inclusion in the offer?Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0

No and no.Pants0 -
Why haven't you told us the reason that Burton gave you?
Or is this some sort of quiz?0 -
I assume only the racks marked £18 for 3 are included in the offer.0

As VSynth, I'd not make the assumption that all t-shirts on one wall were included - only those where the sign was displayed in front?
Annoying perhaps that they are not all next to each other, but that's what I'd have thought.0 -

No, I just wanted to see if anything stands out for you guys. I'll reveal all soon.I assume only the racks marked £18 for 3 are included in the offer.
The tshirts in between the marked ones are also included. Top and bottom.Pants0 -

The stripey ones aren't included?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

I chose 3, went to the till and the total was £26. I questioned it and they told me that the striped tshirt, (top left), and the one below it wasn't part of the deal. If I'd had looked closely, (I'm a man, we don't), then i'd have noticed that the striped tshirts, even though the same material and style as the others, were actually a few £ more. If I had looked closely then I'd have worked it out pretty quickly.
My gripe is that it appears to the uneducated such as me that the whole wall is part of the offer. Not every rack that is included is marked. Some could think it's been done to catch a few out, who when at the till with a queue behind them will just fold and pay, (I grabbed an extra tshirt to complete the offer and kept the stripy one as well).
It's only a few £ but I don't like the way it's been done, it left a bad taste in my mouth as I don't like being taken for a fool.Pants0 -
