Watching a BIN. Why?
Comments
-
Sometimes I watch BIN as i'm not sure if I definitely want to buy it or not. I try and stick to a weekly budget, so if I'm spent up one week I may watch it with a view to buying it the following week, if it's still available.0

I have a few BIN collectables in my watch list as I know they are over priced (which is why they are not selling) and the seller does relist them a bit cheaper every time. Just waiting for that time to come. In the mean time if some mug wants to pay the asking price then good luck to them

I quite often do this. Perhaps they don't have the money right now but want to buy it later on. Perhaps they are just bookmarking it while they give it some more thought. Perhaps they are considering this among a choice of various items to buy and are just making a note of it so it doesn't get lost among numerous tabs. There could be many reasons but I think the one thing most of them will have in common is using the watch mechanism as a form of bookmarking for viewing the item later.0

Lots of reasons here - I originally thought if it was a single BIN Or best offer then i would either make an offer or buy it in case it sold. But i have noticed that I do bookmark stuff myself to find it later or see if the price drops. A poster on here did enlighten me to the fact that a BIN could be listed and reduced nearer the time and it is correct the nearer it gets to the end the lower I will go.So you're Red John? I have to say I'm a little disappointed.0

The watchers may want to send a lowball offer closer to the end of the listing when it is more likely to be accepted?
Or if you do combined shipping they may want to see what other items you list so they can buy several items together and save on postage.0 -
It could be that if it's a buy it now with best offer, watchers are waiting to see if they can gauge market interest and what offer to make by whether other offers are being made.
If an item fails to receive any offers, that's an indication of low interest, prompting the potential buyer to submit a low offer. However, if an item is receiving multiple offers from other IDs, the potential buyer will be more likely to make a higher offer."The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.
