Watching a BIN. Why?

I'm surprised this came up as a question, I've never thought it was odd. I watch BINs all the time because I'm a careful shopper - I never impulse buy, so when I find something I'm interested in I watch it so I can think about it and easily find it again later. I also use my watch list for comparison purposes. I will watch several listings (BIN or auction) of the item I'm looking for so I can easily weigh them against one another and choose which to purchase.
Sometimes I later buy the item and sometimes I don't, but when people watch my BINs I assume they are people who are considering buying the item who haven't made their minds up yet. I don't think I've ever watched something as a competing seller, I just look up those prices before listing my item.0 -
As above posts I am watching 8 laptops at the moment, I Will short list them after ive done a bit more research on the models.0

Don't folk sometimes drop prices when they get desperate to get rid? They may start at £15 but then when they just want to get rid of said item, they may drop it to £12 or even less.0

Once I have a few watchers and no takers, I quite often lower the price a little just to see if I get a bite. Maybe some of my watchers know my tactics. I also get a lot of watchers on my multi listings with variations. I just imagine them as a crowd around my stall and I have to tempt them to buy.0 -
My wife has 4 pages of BINs in her watch list. She says she waits till they don't sell and then get relisted for a lot cheaper, she's currently considering a duvet cover down from £29.99 to £19.99.
She can't resist a bargain unfortunately, no wonder the house is full of other peoples tat.:eek:2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)0 -

And then up the price once one has sold. I did that a while ago when I getting rid of some computer games I got from Tesco a year or two back.0 -
Wait for it to end and then mail you an offer lower that you asked for.0

I frequently watch BIN auctions. Mostly it's so that I can see if the item sells or not, which helps me understand the market price. Also, as mentioned above, if the item is re-listed, I get notified. I've only ever once made a lower offer when something didn't sell.0

I am on a tight budget and often can't afford them when I see them. I am watching a BIN shed. When I have saved the £150 I will buy it.0

- Watching items I want to buy to see if they are re-listed at a lower price.
- Watching items I want to sell to see if they sell at the listed price.
- Handy way of bookmarking identical items from multiple sellers to compare postage / terms etc before buying.
Never quite understood that, but then as this thread has pointed out, there is the possibility they were waiting for a last minute price drop towards the end.• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0
