Antagonistic scum!
If this is against the law why not use the G8 police to lift them, fast track through the courts and show that this is not acceptable (btw I am a prod originally from East Belfast)

What's even worse is that there has been a minister of religion responsible for stirring all this up. Disgraceful.

This is not a post to say who is right or who is wrong god know we have enough people trying to justify one side or the others actions.

But don't you ever just think I am totally P1ssed off with the situation here.

Unemployment is rising, people are finding the cost of living tough and people are loosing their livelihoods and homes. The actions of a few cost us all.

Seriously who would take a chance to invest here in us if they have watched ANY of the political events and the actions of our (so called) political leaders.

It is ALL getting so really old and really tired.

Live and let live, some chance of that happening..........

No words I can come up with can properly describe the revulsion I felt when I saw this and the other news on the telly last night.

On the one hand you have the Orange trying to turn the 12th into an inter-community, family event and then we see idiots like these deliberately disrespecting a place of worship. This band should be prevented from ever taking part in a parade along this stretch again.

Then there's the carry on up the Woodvale Road and on the Newtownards Road. Predictable but scandalous nonetheless. 550 parades yesterday and 448 pass off without any trouble. A great spectacle, packed without tourists from all over the world - then we see this type of behaviour. Idiots all.

The Parades Commission did their best to defuse a bad situation. There's no merit in replacing rioters from one side of the community with rioters from the other.

This sort of behaviour is of course prima facie evidence of just why parades can be contentious.

Yet whenever antagonistic and provocative incidents like this happen, the Orange Order repeatedly washes their hands of responsibility and insist that it's nothing to do with them.

Compare and contrast with the parades in Derry which went off without a hitch, largely thanks to proper dialogue between those who want to march and local people, with proper respect shown by all sides.

One area, according to the news, (I think it was Loughbrickland) even had invited guests from some sort of Dublin community association and their representative said he was very pleased and had enjoyed himself. That's what we need to see more of - cross community initiatives where ALL can enjoy the carnival atmosphere of the day.

Was amused to watch some of the "protesters" last night on the news kicking and beating at an armoured landrover.Wonder if you gave these people a shovel and a road needed digging would they put as much effort in?

Not much point spending money on NI tourism, especially round Belfast.
Rioting at Christmas, rioting in the summertime..
    it's not very bright.
