Not much point spending money on NI tourism, especially round Belfast.
Rioting at Christmas, rioting in the summertime..
    it's not very bright.
it not just the tourism ,its also an employment issue .
Why would any employer want to set up or employ in these areas .Take a look at these and other areas .You can tell the political background by walking down the street .Murals on every gabel wall, flags from every lamp post painted footpaths .What does that say ,we are marking out our territory ,hardly cross community .

Why would any employer want to go near them.

Orange Parade gets Republic of Ireland Government backing.

The Irish government down south has given official backing to the orange parade and recognised it as an important Tourist attraction.

Now how come 7000 orangemen can have a peaceful and friendly day out alongside the local residents (whom i`m sure don`t share the same religious persuasion)?

Dialogue and local agreement probably. No flags on lamp posts, no painted kerbs. No bonfires with tricolours or other sovereign flags, effigies of dead priests and religious statues. No 'kick the Pope' bands.

In other words - mutual respect!

Why can't it be like this all of the time?

Indeed, Big Al. The Orange Order, bands and followers were seriously deficient in this respect this year, not least in their contravening of the Parades Commission's determinations. In the absence of proper dialogue and local agreements in areas where there is contention, the PC determination must be respected by all sides, however unpalatable that may seem, as it is the law and must, and will be upheld by the PSNI.

Agreement can be reached and both sides should look to Derry/Londonderry as a prime example of how dialogue can lead to a positive and lasting accommodation.

Why would there be flags on lamp posts, painted kerbs, etc. in the ROI? The Union Jack is not the official, legal national flag there, unlike in NI.

  • Just been watching this evening's BBC Newsline; A marked difference in attitude between the Belfast OO representative who basically maintained 'it was nothing to do with us, guv' and the Derry OO guy who was pretty unequivocal in condemning the violence.

That is a key reason IMO why the Derry Orange demonstration was a massive, peaceful success and the parade through Ardoyne was so contentious and ultimately ended in disgraceful violence.

Also of course, Nelson McCausland was busy stirring the pot and refusing to call for people to calm down and get off the streets. Keep it bubbling Nelson and maybe people will forget about all the awkward questions you need to answer in relation to political interference with the housing executive.

As long as you clowns like McCausland and Dodds stirring it up so the mugs keep voting for them there will never be any peace, the DUP don't want peace the party would be redundant, as long as sectarian differences are simmering the parties safe and the working classes and unemployed from both side will vote on religious and sectarian grounds.

The boyos on the hill just sit back as long as the votes come, just look at the guy who started all this trouble and kept it going for decades, now probably one of the richest men in Ireland and sits in the House of Lords the big man never did anything for Northern Ireland and the working classes who voted for him, everything he did was for himself, money and power Robbo is no better don't foRget the 40,000 leaflets to screw Naomi Long for kicking him out of Parliament the politicians we have are what we deserve for voting for them.

No businessman is going to invest his money in this country, Arlene Foster prances around about creating a few jobs, yes sure the problem is she buys the with millions of Invest NI money. and when it's spent the jobs disappear to Europe.

The English taxpayers must well sick of paying out to keep us afloat, but it won't last forever.

No not a republican but a Sabdy Row man who was mug enough to once votefor the DUP.
