Wrote a lovely long post and then lost it, ARRRGGGHH bloody craptop!

Weather is supposed to be gorgeous tomorrow so I will be doing a carboot! I've roped in a friend to help and I have piles of boxes by the door. I'm stupidly proud as I managed to reverse my car onto the driveway to make it easier to pack up. I can't park for toffee so this was a truly momentous achievement, which is pretty shameful as I drive a teeny ford ka :o.

I've channeled my inner Nymphadora and have ice packs in the freezer and cold drinks chilling in the fridge. Its a late car boot and we don't need to leave home till 10.30am :T so I'm going to make sandwiches with some crusty bread and roast chicken left from yesterday. I'm praying I'm not near the snack van as I won't be able to resist lovely hot salty delicious chips otherwise. I do so love chips.

Hope you've all had a lovely Saturday, I'm off for a bath and a good early night, I need my energy for tomorrow. I'm gonna make some money.

Your lunch tomorrow sounds lovely I love roast chicken and crusty bread (actually love roast chicken with anything lol) The ice packs have worked out great the last two days for us, great having a cold drink in this weather and not having to have paid over the odds for it in a caf! etc (plus warm sandwiches are not nice).

Good luck with car boot sale, if the weather is good then it should bring out a lot of people.

Will check in tomorrow to see how it went.
  • Hello!

Good luck on your debt reduction & savings quest, I love your writing style!!

Good luck with the car boot, I should do one of these.

I'll give you a laugh, I drove my old car to the scrapyard last week. Yes, I got more for it (£118), but I also shamefully got caught speeding (80mph on a 70mph road), leaving me with 3 points and a £60 fine, so I would have been FAR better off accepting £80 and letting them pick it up!

I spent most of the past 2 pages thinking you were male, then I read the parts about gorgeous Filofax, gin & Ford Ka & decided you were definitely female!

    Good luck!
    MBNA = £4,000 / Next = £925 (approx. tbc on 19/8)

  • Morning PLMBL, Buffy, Nymph and Scottish.

Oh if we could genetically modify celery to be as tasty as chips all our money woes would be solved in an instant.

I  your name Buffy, my Buffy and Angel Boxsets have survived the DVD cull, its looking pretty lonely up there now.

Yes I'm definitely a girl! My car boot pile has a lot of toiletries from my beauty box addiction, I was going to bin some stuff that has been used once as I wouldn't want to buy some make up that some strangers had their grubby fingers poking in but I've been informed they go down a treat . Still have a big ebay pile of the unused expensive stuff. I shudder to think how much I've wasted.

That's the kind of thing that happens to me too Scottish, I manage to do something properly and it just goes wrong elsewhere instead :o.

Very glad this car boot does not start until later as I'm still half asleep, we've had a massive breakfast and as the bacon and mushrooms badly needed using it was money saving too :A. Fingers crossed we have lots of buyers as I'd love to pay a nice big whack off the debt to get me going.

Got to figure out how to do a signature later.

    Seventh Anniversary Debt-free and Proud!
    Good morning to you !

I wish i still had stuff to sell off, i car booted, ebayed and charity shop-donated till i was blue in the face ! Now, to hear that, you would think i lived in some minimalistic tidy house, so how come its not !

Actually sitting here, with the sun streaming in the window, the layers of dust are very scary ! I must ignore it today, i have so much paperwork to do, paying bills, doing the dreaded VAT return, and reconciling bank statements, also took home a project from work, so must have a bash at that ... All providing hubby doesnt want to bale hay, as im his chief assistant tractor driver !!

Whatever happened to Sunday as a day of rest !
Good luck at the car boot sale, may all your clutters turn into treasures ! :rotfl:
Its just a bad day, Not a bad life ..
  • Thanks PLMBL, I should have a signature now!

We're back from the bootie and absolutely exhausted. It wasn't amazing at it was huge and we were right in the middle, buyers were being admitted either end so I think they had run out of cash by the time they got to us . However I have £70 and some change that I didn't this morning, I also swapped some beauty bits for a nice pile of cord and chiffon necklaces for my jewellery making and bought 3 tops for 30p!

The people on the stall next to us were lovely and we had a great chat, the daughter is a singer and shes put us on the guest list for her EP launch in August. So that will be a fab night. I love meeting new people so the day all in all was a huge success :T.

We don't have a coin deposit machine near us so I've bagged up £145 to be paid in tomorrow. The rest is deposited in various coin pots. I'm gagging to open my £2 pot as it seems pretty heavy but I'm making myself wait until I've run out of things to sell as I'll probably need the boost then!

I successfully avoided the chips :A.

Hope you all had a lovely sunny Sunday.
