£1400 overdraft, my bank raised this from £900, without actually asking me!
£7000 credit cards (currently have three cards, but about to balance transfer and close one of the cards)
    £1000 catalogue

Nearly £10k credit available, eek! Better get on with clearing the £2.5k I already owe, and then cancelling all credit apart from one emergency card!

What frightening amounts of credit available, and they wonder why it's so easy for people to get into debt

I had a look and right now I have available:-

    Overdraft £3k
    Next - £4,500
    Littlewoods - £1,500
    Natwest C/C - £3200
    DH's Natwest C/C - £14,000
DH's MBNA C/C - £3,500 (we did a 0% BT for £6.5k from another 4 debts and then they immediately increased it  )

So, if I so wished, tomorrow I could swan off with £29,700.00 - more than my current debt

    Wow!!!

At the moment I have available:

£1500 0% overdraft on my graduate account
£900 on one credit card I use for cashback :)
£500 on another card I don't use and should close
£50 on another card I'm using for its 0% :)
£2000 on a Nationwide credit card... I applied for a current account and credit card because they don't charge fees overseas (am going abroad for 4 months) and they offered me an overdraft and put £2000 limit on the card

That's a total of £4950! And what was my salary when all the above was offered to me? £20k? £15k? No - £7,600      :rotfl:

As of this week I am not employed so I guess I couldn't get any more credit but I have no desire to use any of that available above!

    Scary scary stuff!

I went to the bank...we can actually access £0 ...oh dear. Hubby had to use the Boot sale float (£5 in change!) to put petrol in the car!

Never mind, paid on Tuesday! (and have to give most to the council tax people :( )

    Hi
I dont normally post on this board but had to reply to this as me and my husband were talking about this last night as I got a letter from M&S yesterday
    M&S card = £10,500 credit limit - £3500 outstanding so £7000
    LloydsTSB platanuim = £12750
    Egg card = £1000
That makes a grand total of £20750
Baring in mind that I work part time and earn £12000 a year that is a serious amount of credit. Both the M&S and LloydsTSB were applied for when earning that income and I could have more on the Egg I reduced the limit as I payed it off. I could go on a spending spree and nobody would care until I couldnt make the payment its madness.
