Hi, good to see you back.

I know what you mean about sometimes having to take a step back.

Not on this forum, but another that I used to belong to, I had to take a step back for a month, as I was so annoyed and riled by some of the things that were being said.

It was only the fact that I got a load of nice birthday messages from forum members that I decided to start posting again.

  • Glad all is OK, and I know exactly what you mean - I logged in to Facebook yesterday afternoon to find no fewer than FOUR moany statuses from one person on my timeline within the space of a few hours - and have promptly decided that I'm taking a step right back from THAT for a while too! :D

Loving the idea of you acting as "Special Frugal Adviser" to Jaymee O too! :rotfl:

  • Hello Greying
Glad you are back. MSE is not the same without you :D

Hello beanie  and all the lovely people on here

I agree Essex - Greying would make a great "Special Frugal Adviser" :):)
  • Good Evening :hello:

Ah, now, where to start.... mmm, well at the beginning may be bestest, I guess....:D

Goldiegirl - thank you so much for 'delurking' - although I am sorry that it was the 'food waste' statistic that caused it  And I heartily agree - if that is the 'average' then how much are some folks chucking out? And yes, you summed it up accurately in your second post - I was 'annoyed and riled' too. MSE is a wonderful place and the folks on DFD/DFW are just glorious, they are so generous, knowledgeable, supportive.... I just got so incensed that someone could not see that there is no MeMeMe in 'community'. I do hope now that you've 'de-lurked' you'll pop in again? I welcome your company :D

Essex Hebridean - Thank you for popping in :D Now, I don't pretend to understand the book o face, so I'm not even going to try to work out why you'd want to inform the world that you were 'down in the dumps' (or whatever) more than once....... However, as you wrote the other day, social media can be used as a force for good, so I think perhaps it is user dependent?? :rotfl: Me an SFA???? Nobody's 'people' have been in touch yet :(:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

AliBee16 - I need to know - can you still do the footy pools??? Unfortunately, DP and I did not 'win big', we've not been signing up property portfolios, or drinking vintage fizz by the gallon.... *sigh* However, thank you so much for your extremely kind and supportive comment. I hope you will continue to contribute - again, I welcome your company :D

Maddiemay - I'm glad that we've now 'met'. Thank you so much for dropping by. I 'know' you from Piq's thread and the support you give there. I love your avatar - have I remembered that it is your Border Collie dog? Lovely dogs. Had one myself many moons ago - such intelligent dogs and impossible to walk the legs off! :D Again, thank you for your supportive post, and I do hope that you'll contribute to the thread again. Lovely to have your company :D

Beanie - as ever, THANK YOU :D:D

Karma - thank you for your continued support :D Mmm, I didn't realise that once the cork was popped it would be such a roller coaster, but thus far the progress is good, and I'm enjoying the ride :D

Brizzle - ta for popping by - still loving the progress you are making and :j to the hols idea - just the ticket :D

BoB - was so thinking of you the other day..... saw a net of turnips for the equivalent of 45p a kilo. Bargain! Except I have not got access to your turnip cookbook, so was a bit stumped as to what to do with 12.5 kilos of 'em :rotfl: Did get gifted one from the gardening parental at the weekend though, so all is not lost :D Ta so much for popping by. I am grateful :D

Hopejacob - lovely to see you again. Thank you for your supportive message. How are your little ones getting on with their library books - still loving them I hope?

Upsidedown Bear - great to see you! I'm not sure about stylish, but I do have some pics to share. Thank you for your continuing support, I am extremely grateful.

Pipster - I laughed out loud this morning - you painted an ace picture :D Loving the thought of sprawling across the marble worktop, flicking a bit of flour over me, mussing the hair a bit and feigning hard work and 'donebyship' :rotfl: Although frankly m'dear, I cannot recall a time when the 'boys were in awe' :rotfl::rotfl: As ever, thank you :D

Piq - so good to 'see' you - and thank you so much for leaving a post when you've so much going on yourself. Much appreciated :D

Swampmonster - lovely to have a post from you. Thank you and I hope we can convince you to delurk more often? i'd appreciate the company :D

If I have missed anyone out - for goodness sake shout up :D I have been absolutely gobsmacked at the wonderful support I have received and I am just so humbled by the amount of people that have taken time out of their day to leave me a message. THANK YOU :D

Right, let's get back to business then eh?

    To be continued........ :D

  • Gak! Just lost a big long post :( There were pics and everything :(

I cannot claim a NSD today, so the total remains at 13 :( And I didn't find any *roadkill* on my travels.

I'm currently flagging, so I'm better off calling it a day now. I'll be back tomorrow. I will not be beaten by technology :D

    Today I am grateful for these 3 things;

DFW/DFD stalwarts, lurkers and joiner inners :D - you are all fan.tas.tic :D:D:D

for the invention of chocolate - forgive me I indulged in a crunch1e bar today :o

WD40 - (other water dispersal products are probably available, but this is the one that got me out of a jam :D) the outer door has been jamming and we have been getting 'locked in'. A couple of squirts and the lock is now moving freely.... :D

Thank you so much for popping by, reading and commenting. I greatly appreciate it.

Normal service will be resumed tomorrow :D And I'll be thinking of Piq on her moving day - really hopeful all goes well :D

    See y'all later.

    Good Morning :hello:

    Ack, I don't believe it.

I have just lost yet another post due to W1ndows shutting down. Can't work out if it doesn't like MSE or my photo uploader.

    Right,

    0442_zps8d4621fe.jpg

Labniyeh sauce recipe - this was to accompany bean 'spheres'. I made them some weeks ago - used too much allspice and they were a bit yukky, but freezing tamed them slightly and they were a better eat this time around. The sauce is made with my HM yoghurt, with coriander and lots of garlic added. The recipe is a bit 'catering' scale, so to help, I used about 300ml of yoghurt and it was more than plenty for 2 portions. The carrots were from the gardening parental and the bulghar is AF. DP and I both loved the sauce and meal combo it's a definite keeper. I had never 'cooked' yoghurt as a sauce before - it is prone to splitting, I have read that before, but I got beginners luck and it worked ok for me. I got the recipe from Anissa Helou's book 'Levant', but unfortunately there is no copy of it on the internet.

Ash-e-sholeh qalamkar (beggars soup recipe) - I love the folklore behind this recipe - very like the eastern European 'Stone soup' tradition. It is also a store cupboard wonder - I thought dreaming might like the recipe too. I served it with flatbread and topped it with HM yoghurt, sumac and mint - although that isn't in the original recipe. I used a recipe out of a library book that I am afraid I haven't got reference for - but the recipe given is a very close match to the one I used. It is very filling, using relatively inexpensive ingredients.

Today will be a spend day :( bananas and the TV guide.

Sorry, with the computer playing up, I have got to dash.

But I just wanted to say Upsidedown Bear - if you weren't around MSE then who would warn newbies of trolls? You and Shovel lad (along with others) do a fantastic job over on the DFW board - :T

Thank you so much for popping by, reading and commenting - you know how much I appreciate it.

    See y'all later.

  • Do not use the wd40 on the computer. Just saying

    :D

Lovely to see you back. Kids favourite book was stone soup a while back - love the concept behind store cupboard favs that just appear.

    :)

    Hope pesky pc behaves later.

    Have a good un.
