  • Good Morning :hello:

Definitely cooler this morning, but not as cold as anticipated - so we're up to a good start already this morning :D

I've the TV listings guide to get today, and so may as well replenish the banana count too :D Hopefully that will be it for spends though, as the purse is starting to feel very light :(

Dinner this evening was to be a portion of lasagne out of the freezer (think I made it last month) with a baked potato. But I shall take another look at the veg mountain, as there is more pumpkin left than I had anticipated and I most certainly don't want to waste it - it's far too good for the compost heap! Oh, that reminds me - who [STRIKE]the h3ll[/STRIKE] on earth is wasting all this food? Pippi said that the new UK food waste figures are out - on average households throw away £60 of food per month. I have never been so proud to puff out my chest and say, 'We at Greying Towers are decidedly BELOW average'.......:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Jeepers if it gets to 6 pence we have to have a 3 day internal enquiry as to where systems and procedures have gone wrong :rotfl:

Right, I'm away to seize the day. Hope you have a great day.

Thank you for reading, commenting and dropping by. I greatly appreciate it.

    See y'all later.

  • Hey lovely I wrote a post which was eaten up.

I just really said - pumpkin pie?

    Hope you find some roadkill

    and keep warm!

  • About the same here on the food waste thing - horrifying that people throw out that much stuff, but I can't quite say I'm surprised - drives me mad seeing what they waste in the office, although that seems to have improved a little since I got here..... ;)

It was definitely as cold as anticipated this morning, wasn't it! Flipping ARCTIC down here - was VERY glad of my scarf, gloves etc. Much chillier and the stripey hat will be making an appearance.

The rose sounds wonderful - we have one still flowering as well but I suspect it will have shrugged off its remaining petals last night as we very definitely had a frost. Noticed this morning that our beautiful Silver Birches outside have all shivered their last leaves onto the ground since yesterday.

Hello, I don't follow many diaries, but I do look in on yours, as I always find it interesting.

I've just de-lurked to say '£60 worth of food chucked away on average????'

OMG ! That is truly shocking.

And if that is the average, there's people chucking away even more.

    Good heavens above

I'll go and lurk again now!:rotfl:

I dont normally post much on here, but I do follow Greying Pilgrim avidly because I find her optimism and joi-de-vivre help set my day into a positive frame, so am missing her posts lately. I do hope she and Mr Greying have won the pools and are currently on a round the world cruise, and just doesnt have the time to post but, if not, I hope you are well Mrs Greying :)
