Hello miss empty piggy :hello:
Hope you are no longer empty now :money:0 -
Good Morning :hello:
Visitors how luverly
Beanie - I forgot to say last night, the 'jotters' I got were conventional school ones - with 'name', 'form' and 'subject' on the front - and they were in nice bright primary colours. Fit for the intended purpose I think
miss empty piggy - welcome back indeedYour wonderfully kind post to us all has put a smile on my face this morning. Thank you
Ay up Shovel Lad - love that you are de-lurking
Well, today will be a NSD and AFD. We need nowt
Dinner this evening is going to be interesting, perhaps I've concentrated too much on the 'beetroot falafel' and not enough on accompaniments.......... watch this space
Right, I've prep to do in the kitchen, but at least snap bags are packed up and ready to go and flasks filled.
Have a great day everyone. Thank you so much for dropping in, reading and commenting. I greatly appreciate it.
See y'all later.

Oh & I now have pencil cases, rulers, rubbers, sharpeners.
No joy with jotters as yet or underwear.
Have spent half the budget so we will see.
Just got Jotters for 30p each from the Every day v@lue range at T's also 7 pairs boys briefs for £2.50 and 5 pairs girls for £1.50, half price on the girls but no reduced boys over 2-3yrs in my local store!
So for £6.70 I got underwear, the missing pencil sharpeners (15p) and 6 Jotters. Think I've got everything now!
Hope this helps Beanie:)0 -
Good Evening :hello:
Thanks Tiggger all info on sources is helpful
Well, I can update my siggie with another NSD and AFD - well chuffed
Today has been glorious, although I have the 'startings' of a cold - a tickly throat, sneezing and a slight *sniffing* thing going on.... (trying to keep that to a minimum tho, as it so annoys me) Here's hoping the lurgy keeps at bay and I manage to shrug it off. Can't be bothered with being ill.
Dinner this evening turned out to be really nice. And no, I'm not trying to be big headed, it just was nice to eat. I made up the beetroot falafel mix - that was just my usual falafel recipe and then I put small dice beetroot into it. Plus some mint as beets and mint work well together. They were formed into *sliders* (small burgers - what they're called in the US), and fried off. I made a carrot, celery and apple salad/slaw. I added in a few raisins, some toasted sesame seeds and dressed with lemon juice and oil and seasoned. The sliders were then served on a small helping of seasoned bulghar (the fine stuff that looks like cous cous - which would of worked just as well, but I had no packet open) and topped with yoghurt sprinkled with some sumac that I bought on holiday. I'll just add in that sumac is a dried (and ground up) reddish berry that has a lemony/citrus flavour and is used in a lot of middle eastern cookery - I'm sure you knew that, but I thought I would just mention it. I had difficulty photographing it, unfortunately none of the handheld in natural light were pin sharp enough - I do think it loses something in the artificial light, as it looked very colourful in reality. Picture here
DP really enjoyed it, the recipe is a keeper and I hope to make it again. I did mention to DP though whether it would be as good with *bought* beetroot. I used the last of the HG from the gardening parental, which was exceptionally well flavoured (really earthy and savoury)........ I did the ingredients 'by eye' but it has made 16 sliders, enough for 4 meals. I will freeze the 8 remaining sliders.
I have already received an e-mail from the energy supply company that I want to change too. If this is a sign of their future efficiency, then I am impressed....... Still, the proof will be when direct debits are collected etc etc won't it?
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
wildlife - I happened to be upstairs earlier and was delighting in watching a 'flock' of long-tailed t.i.t.s bobbing about between gardens - which in itself was a marvel - but then the female sparrow hawk went patrolling through...... wow. I don't think she was hunting, but everyone knew she was there, such a fantastic thing to see.
for DP - who has just brought me a hot drink and a hot water bottle
for goodwill and information sharing - wouldn't it be fab if RL was as good as it is here on MSE........
Thank you so very much for popping by, reading and commenting. I greatly value it and appreciate it.
See y'all later.

Good Morning :hello:
Arggh. A broken night's sleep due to sniffles - which, according to the radio this morning, means my brain won't of 'emptied' properly - ho hum.
Still, never mind. I'm functioning and the day needs to be seized, so let's get up and at 'em.
Today will be AF and a NSD. We do need yeast, as pizza was on the planner tonight, but I have used the last of the yeast sachets. Still I prefer the MrS yeast, and I shall be no where near one for at least a day - more likely 2 - so no spend there :)Therefore, curry will probably be on the menu tonight. I'd love to do a really hot ginger and chilli spiked one, but a) I'm not really a fan of super hot currries and b) I've DP to consider.....So, watch this space
I hope you have a good day. I intend making the best of mine
Thank you so much for popping by, reading and commenting. I appreciate it. Greatly.

Indeed it is. I've been off mse for ages, needing to take care of myself as yet another virus whistles through my life. And thank god the tendrils of mse are wound into my life, we need to make the most of the day today, indeed.
One thing that Greying reminded me of, when I started following your thread, Greying, was the three gratitudes, at the end of the day, and even through the lurgy, I've been doing that.
Today, I am grateful for:
- mse. The people I know online, the people I've written to and who've written to me, the people I've met.
- that even though I feel really ill, its nothing, nothing at all, to what other people have been through, for years, which gives me the chance to live my life more fully after I take on board these learnings.
- that because I stayed with a few existing threads, by existing friends, I got to a meet a whole other set of mse people, who are just as beautiful, seeing you guys on Greying's thread.
- and grateful for Greying Pilgrim. Thank you, my friend.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
