            Hi GP and chums
I haven't posted for a while but I have been trying to read and keep up with posts. For a while I had a bit of a slump in feelings of positive-ness but a few days away in our wendy house on wheels has helped. Unfortunately, dear FiL (92 yrs young) has not been very well and it's a bit energy sapping to say the least. I am now aiming to craft my way to Christmas as it's a wonderful way to forget *problems*
I am loving the look of your soups, GP, as well as the fancy shaped burgers. The GC would love those. When we did the shopping in Mr M on Wednesday (usually a Monday task) we spotted some 500g bags of prepared deli foods at a ridiculous price of 19p. We bought a bag of chopped spring onions which I have split into portions and I'm hoping they will freeze for later. However, numpty that I am, I didn't pick up a bag of grated carrot for 19p. I was halfway round the store when I suddenly thought SOUP! I dashed back and they had been snapped up
 What a nerd I am....
Anyway, thanks to all the tempting tips on this thread I am actually saving money from the food budget. I already have £10 in the pot for Christmas food :T Best of all DH is seeking out reduced items  and my freezer is full of stuff to use for meals when I can't be **sed to cook. Thank you, thank you, GP, one and all.

Cutesy burgers GP, what a brill idea. :j
And soup with cheese scones
:):)
It is definitely going to be soup week next week.
Tomorrow is a big pot of comforting Tarka Dhal. Then Saturday, hmmm that's up for debate at the mo. Then Sunday is omelette, baking, lemon curd and any other eggy things. I need to look back as I've been here before.
I have a tray of eggs and a huge bag of potatoes....
I'm afraid tonight was HM oven chips (dipped in a bowl with a tablespoon of oil then roasted in the oven) with egg and beans. Simple but delicious.
Boiled egg sarnies tomorrow. Bound to be :rotfl:Remember the boiled egg diet. Hmm :rotfl:OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

That is one of my favourite meals with brown bread and butter and a pot of tea. Yummy.
Thanks for the Aldee super 6 list. Leeks are on my meal plan and I may grab another pack to make leek and potato soup, another favourite.
And thanks for the tip about oats in the AGCJ burgers. I cant eat gluten and don't have much GF bread so this would be a great alternative for me:)
We quite often have scones with soup too as I can rustle them up in 20 minutes when a GF loaf in the bread maker takes 2 hours.
What lovely sharing people you and your visitors are Greying, I am picking up lots of tips and ideas

Thanks xSpender - I hadn't done the bread and butter or cup of tea, but will make sure I do next time - I also love spaghetti hoops so that will be the 'veg' of choice this week

I need to use up these eggs and potatoes so am boiling eggs for lunch and think I'll make a shepherds pie on Sunday. I need to get some small containers to make some individual ones so we can make 'fast food' ones. I'll have a look in Lidls and the cheep shop on way back from quacks.
Oh INOD, yes I remember it well. I think it put us all off, even now. For some reason I don't really fancy eggs but when I eat them I love them - boiled, scrambled, fried - all ways.
I'm going to try the scones too as I hated buying a sliced loaf last week when we'd run out - never thought to do some scones.
I have two loaves cooking in the oven. Have made a pizza dough and put it in the fridge for tomorrow - although its trying to escape. Going to make the curry in a minute for tonight and then I've got to get on with more houseywork.
