Good Morning :hello:
Brizzy - hey you - only 1 more sleep......
beanie - ugh, I hear you. Whilst I totally understand that people need to be able to afford food etc, I am not liking the behaviour that is creeping in. There is less, 'have you only that item? Oh do go in front of me' - no they have to unload, reload and pay for their entire - full to overflowing - trolley first. And the shop was so busy yesterday, that to be fair, the staff were opening as many tills as they could. On announcing that people should start loading onto till 1, one woman hurtled (there really is no other word for what she did) across with her trolley, to be 'first onto that conveyor belt'. Mind you, I'm buying less and less there, as I'm not seeing real cost savings, so I don't have to put up with the nonsense, and hopefully yesterday was a one-off in timing.
INOD - always a pleasure to *see* you. Thank you for taking the time to pop in
End of the week already. Even DP commented how the week had whizzed last night.
I should definitely be able to drop the FB donation off today, so I shall endeavour to do that. The sooner they have it, the sooner someone can receive it.
I could be looking at a NSD. The 'rest' of the groceries that I need can be got from the more local sm's tomorrow, there is nothing that I need today. I'll just double-check that there is nothing in the L*dl weekend promo that I need. Don't think that there is - but I will be buying a 5kg net of onions in their XXL promo next week (£1.79).
Dinner this evening will be a HM pizza - either spinach or black olive, haven't decided yet, but we have no potatoes (they're starting to be not worth buying) so there will be no wedges. Don't think that we'll starve somehow.......
Right, best get away and pack up snap.
Thank you all for popping by, reading and for joining in. I remain greatly appreciative
See y'all later.

Hey little_sweetie - nope, the bulghar will be counted when I use it in Scheherazade casserole/bake as it is a key constituent - the butter beans got counted tonight as they were a key part of the dish, whereas the bulghar was an accompaniment
Ah, now I understand. Thank you for clarifying, Greying.
I thought of you this morning when we were out walking and I saw a tiny bird perched right at the top of an enormous tree. The branches were very thin and he was struggling to hold on and swaying as if in a gale. Suddenly the words "extreme boing-iness" came to mind and I had to smile. I think I'll be making more use of that lovely phrase from now on :rotfl::rotfl: It kind of came to mind too when DH decided to jump on a big box to squash it before putting it in the recycling not realising it contained great lumps of polystyrene. He kind of boinged a couple of times before falling over on the car park  It was then I remembered why I married him as they do say laughter is good for you! :rotfl::rotfl:Don't worry ...no husbands were harmed in the making of the film
Hope all readers are having a super day, it's lovely out there....Sealed Pot Challenge #012

Good Evening :hello:
Ah little_sweetie - how you have made me laugh out loud. Thank you so much for your postVery, very mucho appreciated
Well, I've had better Fridays.................... It's all petty first world carp, absolutely nowt in the grand scheme of things, but.... well, grrrr  I've given meself a kick up the pants and told meself to gerrover meself:D
I did achieve today thoughI dropped off the Fbank donation. And I nabbed a NSD. So that is satisfying
Dinner this evening was pizza, and with the absence of any potatoes to make wedges, I did a salad selection to accompany. Picture here;
The pizza was cheese and tomato - the tomato sauce on the dough was really dark, and the paprika sort of leached through into the cheese, so although it looks 'burnt/crispy' it was in fact very cheesy and gooey - the picture actually does it no favours, but I can attest that it was lushAnd I was very good and only had one piece, DP had the bigger slice and we should have 6 portions left - for tomorrow/to freeze. Try to make things last a little more this month
The salads were; carrot, sunflower & pumpkin seed; celery and cucumber, and bulghar wheat with roasted meditteranean veg. And I won't lie to you Dear Reader, the carrot salad looked lovely and smelt lovely, but I included a green chilli from Ald* in the mix - um, hot is not the word. Dripping nose syndrome sums it up................... :rotfl:So that wasn't as nice as it should have beenThe concept of putting green chilli in was a good one, as there was lime zest & juice in it too, but the chilli should be fruity not fiery :rotfl:
There was no glass of something red or even a quenching lager, as we're sticking to our pledge of not buying alcohol out of the social fund. Remind me again, how long is the month of May???
Anyway, we've lived to tell and laugh at the tale, so all is good
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
that there's always something to smile at or laugh about - and I believe the late Bob Hoskins told his daughter the same truth
for DP taking action - the outcome didn't get us anywhere, but at least he tried - for us, for Team Greying :smileyhea
that there's always another 'way' - pretty sure I've currently mislaid the road map, but I'll hold onto the thought.......
Thank you so much for reading, commenting and bringing 'extreme boing-y-ness' to this thread
I remain very appreciative of all my MSE chums
See y'all later.

Have finally made the smoky lentil burgers. All gone in about 10 seconds! Will definitely make more - loved by DH and DD. Thanks Greying. How did I make such a delish meal out of store cupboard items? Had them with pittas from the freezer, salad, mango and mayo. Yum.
:):). Didn't look like your photo but very very tasty.
I've just gone onto the book club website and ordered two copies of A Girl Called Jack book for £4 each. Found a free delivery code for a £15 spend so ended up spending £20 but have 3 other books for birthdays (heavy month May) plus a halogen oven recipe book for me. The second Jack book is for my DNs birthday at uni.
Had a good day today. Almost completed accounts. Not annoyed by manyone. Lovely lentil burgers. Offer of help at work. NSD to boot. Bank holiday weekend :T:rotfl::rotfl:

Hi GP
Sorry you had an irritating day. Both DH and I were argumentative, and at one point I told him in earthy tones to go away. This is highly unlike me, but boy was I provoked. All is calm now.
With reference to donations to Food Banks, did you know that they also welcome toiletries and cleaning products? If, like my DH, you stockpile such items, it can be a way to declutter unused and in-date products.
There's a very active FB locally, so DH and I are going to pop in next week to see if they need volunteers.
I've driven 500 miles this week, and if I wasn't going to parkrun and then to visit mum I'd be happy not to get in the driving seat for a few days. Another 300 mile trip on Thursday is scheduled. I've discovered that taking a cushion with me helps, as I don't have much padding on my derriere (it's everywhere else though).
Off to bed now, sleep well all xWhat would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Homeless charities are also really appreciative of toiletries as are women's shelters. I always snaffle free hotel ones where possible and pass them on.
