Hi Greying.
The tattie scones look good. May have to have a wee shot of them.
I found The Bridge on Netflix and loved it so series 2 is being recorded on sky. Also found The Killing. Watched one episode of the US multi-Emmy show and then switched to the Danish. Much better.

Love scandinavian TV - Borgen, the Killing, Wallender - just discovered The Bridge (missed series 1- is it on Netflix?). Quite enjoyed Hinterland as the Welsh answer to Danish/Swedish crime drama - with some subtitles too!

Where are you watching Borgen from?
Ay up KJ - lurverly to see yaWe're watching it off the hard drive on the recorder - I see it was on BBC4 in November 2013
, we've watched 2 episodes so far. And it is not disappointing, although it is all going a bit swimmingly for her thus far.........
Quite enjoyed Hinterland as the Welsh answer to Danish/Swedish crime drama - with some subtitles too!
Hi mizmir I had totally forgotten about Hinterland! Was that shown on terrestrial TV or was it a Sky thing? Weren't the writers the same or something?
I'm going to try to grab a NSD today. And it'll be something like green bean and tomato bredie for dinner which I have made before and has South African origins I believe.
Right, better get a wiggle on
Thank you so very much for popping by, reading and commenting. I greatly appreciate it.
See y'all later.

Series 2 has just finished on BBC Wales - can't believe rest of UK hasn't picked it up! But it should be on iPlayer at the moment. Not sure about the writers as it is a Welsh production - and drops in and out of Welsh language (subtitled). But that is what it is like in parts of Wales - people switching between languages depending on who they are talking to. So I liked that about it.0 -

Hi Miz,
Yes all of series 1 of the Bridge is on Netflix, plus American and Danish versions of the Killing and UK and Swedish versions of Wallander. I really think we get out monthly £5.99 out of it.
Only downside is I can't do my usual faffing when it's on as I need to read the subtitles. Starting to notice faces cropping up between the various Danish things now as well.
Hi Greying ... Hope you have a good un.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
I've completely missed out on the whole Scandi crime drama thing
must do better! Its only now, after some *very* surprised comments from my sister, that I'm even watching Lewis on ITV3 or wherever it is

Good Evening :hello:
mizmir - I thought Hinterland had been on yonks ago - I remember seeing an item about it on one of the entertainment programmes they show on BBC news 24, in between the interminable drivel about the latest celebrity chipped nail news items....And yes, to surprise about it not being picked up by the mainstream, I mean Dr Who is a BBC Wales production - as is Sherlock I think, and they've been great for ratings....
Back to earth tonight, we watched Jaymee & Jimmee from last Friday night whilst sitting in front of the log burner eating dinner....
Well, today has been ..... WONDERFUL
I found 1p *roadkill* outside a newsagents. Long may the 'yooth' deem copper coins 'uncool'
I managed to move an appointment and now I have a day off with DP to look forward to in February
I didn't gain a NSD, but I did drop lucky with some YS'd mushrooms, which were just what I need for the Mushroom 'carbonade flamande' that I'm cooking for dinner on Saturday night.
I did break my 'no buying alcohol' challenge, and got some beer, but a) it was on special offer and b) it means I can make Saturday night's dinner tomorrow evening, giving the flavours time to meld before we heat it up and eat it whilst watching the England v France rugger match on Saturday evening :T
The tradesperson rang back and left a message on the answer machine :T His quote is astronomical
Dinner this evening was very last minute and late, but we needed 'stodge' so I went in a meditteranean direction for inspiration and we had 'stew' and wet polenta. Picture here;
The stew was what we have left/in stores, so onion, celery, garlic, carrot, mushrooms, balsamic, paprika, passata, dried mushrooms, black-eyed beans, green olives, spinach, dried herbs, cinnamon, pepper. And the polenta just had some dried herbs - rosemary, thyme, parsley and oregano chucked in.
Very warming and just the 'stodge' factor required
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
for walking in swirling snow flecks* with no other sound but a robin and other birds to listen to - and I am grateful that I have the health and vitality to do it....
for intuition - the '11p knocked off' YS'd mushrooms stayed on the shelf in mrT, 'coz something told me I'd find a better bargain....... and I did :T
for online meter reading submissions - I've only been with this new co. a couple of months, and they're knocking £1 off our D/D because we're using less energy than they assumed we would :T (even though I gave them accurate data to begin with....)
Thank you so much for popping in, reading and commenting. As ever, I greatly appreciate it.
See y'all later.
Greying
* they were only 'flecks' not even flakes, but they did swirl and lasted for about 5 minutes, but not a white-out or anything dramatic, and I wasn't risking frostbite being out in it
(I know how you worry

I love those as well-In fact i love the Swedish version of Wallender and if you combine it with the English version-you get a good representation of the books..:D Same for the Girl with The Dragon Tattoo, although i think the Swedish version is the best one.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0
