I can't remember where I was staying but someone told me to use the repellent used locally - after all the locals won't buy it if it doesn't work

As I said in post #16, I'd never rely on Avon S-S-S as my only mosquito repellent.

Avon do not make any claims about its insect repellent qualities, just that it 'locks in moisture when sprayed on damp skin'.

Having said that, I've been using it on holiday for almost 20 years (when it was the bath oil spray and was pretty greasy), but I first use an after sun with mozzie repellent, then Avon S-S-S, then a proper mozzie repellent such as Autan or Boots Repel.

Lovelyjoolz - thanks - read some great reviews about Mosquito Milk it was a good deal on that website so have just bought some - hope it arrives before we leave!

So i'll be armed with that, skin so softly and boots own spray... if that fails i'll resort to a burka

  • I have just returned from Venice and Mosquitos love to dine on me. I used Mosquito Milk for the first time and did not get bitten. My 3 travelling companions all had bites. I have always used 100% deet in the past which is horrible stuff. I am so happy to have found this product and it smells nice

I'm going to the South of France in a couple of weeks. Do you think one bottle of Mosquito milk will last me two weeks?
