Does anyone think the bands you can wear actually work to prevent mossies & other biting beasts?
Is the only option to drench myself in deet?
I am heading to the south of france in a couple of wks, last time i was there i got really badly bitten & I always react badly to them so interested if anyone can suggest anything...

It is said that eating Marmite before you travel and while you are there is a real deterrent, you would need to start eating it now.
If you don't like Marmite, Brewers yeast tablets or Vitamin B tablets are a good alternative.0 -

i usually get eaten alive on holiday seems to get worse as years go by.
last year in lanzarote i was covered in bites, avon ss soft did not work for me.
this year went to dominican republic armed with everything i read about.
took lavender soap, lavender bodywash, vitamin b tablets before and during holiday, jungle formula high strength. washed my clothes before travel and added lavender conditioner to the wash.
not sure which one of the above worked but i did not get bit0 -

My wife eats so much Marmite that I'm surprised she hasn't grown a yellow lid.
She still gets eaten alive by mosquitoes.0 -
Some lavender oil mixed with a little water and sprayed on should help, in fact it definitely will, although it probably won't prevent them entirely.0

I'm like a 3 michelin starred restaurant for mozzies but I found taking antihistamine tablets mean I'm not butten as much - or if I am it doesn't swell & itch so I don't notice - would recommend one of the bite zappers to treat them as well (it produces a small electrical charge which forces the irritant out of the bite)proud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

I take antihistamines too, and Vitamin B tablets, which may or may not help but they are so cheap they have to be worth a try0
