I think the point is that if an investigation has been held, you need to be given the results, in good time to refute / prepare a defence before any resulting disciplinary.

Now, the good news is that you know what this is about, and you know what actually happened, and you know you told your boss.

Can you prove that? I hope you've got time to print off any emails from the time before you go into the meeting ... or notes of meetings. If not, at the very least write down whatever details you can remember, especially those you can prove.

You might want to forward those emails off site, if that's not a breach of client confidentiality. I'd put a hard copy of whatever you can find and print in the post to yourself, you may not be allowed to leave with it if they are absolutely gunning for you.

I agree - surely if the boss was made aware of the error then the issue has been "scaled upwards" and the onus is on him and not Frikkadel to resolve it? After all, that's why he's the boss and he's paid more. It was HIS responsibility to deal with it once he was made aware of the error and he c*cked-up.

He sounds like a complete tool, this chap - what a revolting man. Good luck Frikkadel - and please do let us know how you get on.

RuthnJasper he is a complete spanner (could use worse words) and I notified him straight away it was up to him to resolve it 2 years ago! It just makes it more apparent that he wants to get rid of me as he didnt give me a warning never mind a disciplinary back then.

Savvy_Sue you're right, the union rep agreed that he didnt follow proper procedure because he only made me aware that there was a problem, an investigation (he already done) and notice of disciplinary within 10 minutes, 17:00 in the afternoon two days before the actual disciplinary!!!

Fortunately for me I was lucky enough to find a union rep who would accompany me, and she called him the day before the hearing to say I have a legal right to have a 5 day postponement. So its set for this Friday, and to add to my stress levels, I've been advised to raise the grievance against him I was initially going to do, and to do it before the hearing. I can only hand it to the other director on Friday morning when they're in. Oof not looking forward to this...

Don't forget that you are not the one in the wrong here. You have done nothing to be ashamed of. I know it's hard, but stay strong. xx

earlier in the thread you said you were given written warning of a mistake that has happened two years ago... was this the mistake - thus highlighting that the boss was in fact previously aware of the issue????

I hope it all goes as well as it can do on Friday...

And thank you Im trying not to overthink it, will just deal with it on Friday, its not life or death, so Im not going to stress myself out about it anymore than I need to :o

That's the spirit! And I'd bet you'd rather be out of there with your lovely baby than sailing along regardless without him/her...! Also - who knows - perhaps your taking action now might prevent this same thing happening to another new mum who is even more vulnerable.

Keeping everything that's legal crossed for you for Friday! xx
