Does a "producer" need to be served directly to the owner/driver?

So not speaking to them would seem to have been sensible. While I believe it was fine where it was, I'd rather not encourage them if there is any doubt. Now the van has gone I'm sure it'll be a fading memory.

If the police have made that many attempts to speak to you, I very much doubt it. As I've said before, simply getting rid of the van will not necessarily solve what ever it is the police want to speak to you about.
