Skyrim is one of the most "alive" environments I've come across. You can talk to anyone, interact with many inanimate objects, hunt almost anything, go into any building, etc.

I don't think that makes or breaks a game though. With GTA it does feel like a lonely world though with the exception of San Andreas as I really did feel at home on Grove Street and knew that area really well and the people near by knew me. It was quite realistic in that sense.

Maybe I'm lucky but I've not come across glitches in my games.

Yes, you can talk to someone and they have such a limited range of dialogue that doesn't even progress with the storyline. Maybe I'm asking too much, but a more dynamic world would be nice.

With GTA, I can get to know a small area, but once I branch out of that I am almost entirely dependent on the GPS map, which isn't ideal when being chased by police! It may be that I can't commit the time to the game it really needs to be appreciated. I like the GTA series, but it is a time killer, not a game I get fully immersed into like Heavy Rain.

Hmm... I see what you mean but it's not realistic to know every neighbourhood like the back of your hand.

I hope you've played The Last Of Us. It sounds like your perfect game. People you interact with feel so real. And it's super immersive.
I expect you're excited for Beyond Two Souls? That one and GTAV are the games I am sooooo excited for!

I have it on my to-play list, but hoping it goes down in price a bit (unlikely!) before buying it. Similarly with Beyond, yep :)

Should be a very good game. GTA was a game series that never really let itself go like some others, although it has been a while now. I might wait a while before buying it for the price to come down though as I imagine I will do on this game what I have done on all previous GTAs - i.e. not actually do the missions but just go around on mad rampages.
  • i have pre ordered it and booked the following 3 days off work. Sad? Maybe, but i am super excited for it!

  • SO EXCITED. To be totally honest GTA IV was the first GTA I played through to completion, as I tended to just run around and drive over jumps in the previous games.

Graphically it's crazy, looks like it's really pushing the potential of the hardware now and could be the epic swansong the current consoles deserve. Day One purchase for me.
