Usually jeans carry a pre wash before wearing warning.0 -
I'd assume any new pair of jeans are likely to transfer dye until they've been washed a couple of times!!
Use the sofa cleaner stuff and it should remove it. My granddad bought a cream sofa and is forever falling asleep doing the crossword and dropping his biro on it!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

This is a very common problem, everyone I know is aware of it.
Did the furniture not advise you of this?
It is common sense, and you can't expect manufacturers to list EVERY possible problem that could go wrong. The more one gets to know of men, the more one values dogs.0 -
Everyone I know, knows not to sit on a cream sofa with new jeans, everyone I know, knows to wash new jeans either on their own or with other jeans only for the first few washes. So yes it is a commonly known issue.0

Takes you back though to those days of sitting in a bath of blue water trying to get your Levis to shrink to fit.
Ahh those were the days!0 -
I am a professional carpet and upholstery cleaner.
Please do not use vanish on your sofa. (or carpets!)
Dye transfer from new jeans is a well known problem, did a job only last week on a new white sofa. The resulting marks can be removed using the right professional solutions by a competent cleaner, my customer was delighted!0 -

Everyone I know, knows that chrysanthemum tea helps soothes sore throats so this must also be a common fact known to all of mankind.
I'm glad that there's so many of you telling me what I know.0 -

I hardly think sarcasm towards the people trying to help you is going to get you very far, you may not like what people are telling you but it is fair to say that so far it has been established that it is a commonly known problem.
Most furniture retailers do warn you when you purchase a light item. Most of the light furniture items also carry a warning label.
Most jeans/dark items of clothing/cushions/throws also carry a warning label.
A lot of people just know about it through past experience/common sense.
It seems highly unlikely that you have managed to find a retailer who didn't tell you, then the sofa not having a warning label, then to have jeans without a label. It's more likely that at least one of them has had a warning and it has been removed without being read.0
