Guys I just broke my second phone during the year and had to buy a new one again ..... curious to know why would u want to change your mobile?
a) Old phone got damaged
b) Contract finished
c) Wanted to upgrade to a new handset
And how often do you change your phone?
a) less than one year
b) one to two years
c) more than two years
Many thanks for killing my curiosity.

Change mine every 2 years. 24month contract usually.

I have a good price on a 30 day rolling SIM. So long as I've got a smartphone for my work, I don't need the latest and greatest, so I just buy a handset outright when I want one (normally one someone else has bought, didn't like and has stuck on ebay).
My contract costs £10-11 a month. I spend about £60 on a phone, normally about every 18 months.
My opinion is if you're taking out a contract with a handset in, it's basically a hire purchase, so add up the costs of that over a sim-only contract, and it's a bit of an eye opener in terms of how much your handset is costing you.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?

i change mine when my contract expires, i see no real need to upgrade before that time0

Ah, young 'uns. Limiting the options to such a narrow band. The thought of having a phone for more than two years _shudder_. In any sane world 95% of respondents will answer c. Depressingly, chances are 95% will be answering a or b.0 -
In the past I've upgraded at the end of my 12 - 24 month contract. Im now on a sim only contract as I'm happy with the phone I have and wont replace it unless it breaks. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

I've had my current phone coming up on 3 years now and it works just fine so while I don't need to replace it I am getting the urge for something new and shiny

My Nokia 6310 and a PAYG SIM is great. Must be nearly 10 years old now. It's not locked to a network so when I go abroad, I just buy a local SIM for it.
It makes and receives calls, and even handles text messages. Suppose it or the battery will die one day and I'll have to dig out another one, or just take a hand-me-down from one of my DD's.

Used to be every 2 years on contract.
Now move to SIM only. Not sure when I will change my mobile, probably every year or 2 year or when ever I like.0
