Absolutely nothing! they didn't ask for any document! we just tell him what we earn and other stuffs then he put it all in the computer. I feel a bit weird why they don't need any prove. But I was told we have passed their credit check with an A which is very good. Also we are on electoral roll and with a large deposit, blah,blah.. It is a strenge thing that they did not required any document?

    Thanks.

    Fingers crossed

Since we have both got roughly the same timings my gut feeling is next week when I spoke to them, Think there's just a backlog of applications and approvals. So just sit tight, I'm sure everything will be fine.:)

I find it very strange that the MA did not ask for any documents to support the application .... and that an application can be approved on basis of information (identity, income, etc.) given only verbally.

I hope I am wrong but it could be the case that while you are waiting to receive a formal offer the lender's processing center is waiting to receive the required documentation from your end before proceeding any further than valuation.

If I were you I'd get hold of the MA and ask him/her to chase up and find out exactly what's happening with your application.

This was not the case for me, They specifically said no docs was required and if they needed anything that they would be in touch, eitherway we wait and see. I did chase yesterday and they said the mortgage team were checking all the details and will be in touch with the offer or whatever they needed,

    thanks.

So, in absence of any documents to prove one's identity / address / income, it is possible for me to be "you", apply for a mortgage for a property that I (not you) wish to buy and make sure that you (not me) end up as the borrower.

Don't be surprised if the next communication from MA / Halifax is one asking for the necessary documentation, leading to a bit more delay.

    IMHO ....

    No,

They electronically verify you by means of communication via your address and then clarification by way of a phone call.

    thanks.
  • I am applying through Halifax and have been told by my MA that they need a payslip and my ID only to give to Halifax as my credit score is a Grade A - I was quite surprised about that I thought they would need 3 months bank statements etc.

I totally understand where u coming from. I'm worrying the same thing as well, but I asked him every time I wen to see him and he just told me that the computer didn't want anything so nothing is required.

Still waiting to hear from him.

    Fingers crossed.
