Hi, I'd be very appreciated if you could give up a little bit of ur time to advice or let me know your experience in the mortgage app, how long does it takes for an offer to be issued after valuation is done.
6th June-Full application.
4th July-Valuation carried out. (Came back match the purchasing price. )
9th July- Received the valuation result thru post.
No additional document required.
Backgrounds:
-Mortgage with Halifax
-First-time buyers, age both 22
-Shared ownership-50% share
-32% deposite
-Excellent credit rating
I know I should be patient but the waiting is driving me crazy, thinking of they might reject.

Hi
I think you should have it latest by Friday if no other docs were requested from u
if you applied via broker , they can email you offer a bit earlier may be by tomorrow evening hopefully
good luck !0 -
My timeline here0

Give them a couple of days to check they are fine with your valuation, as this has only come through today. I agree with Friday.
I am going through the process with Halifax myself and my timeline was:
Full application done 5th June
Valuation done on 11th June
Full offer received on 14th June.
Now waiting to exchange... which is even more waiting I'm afraid.
Best of luck.0 -
Smarky: thank u so much,:T ur reply has comforted me a lot. I applied directly with Halifax.
Dumpallhere: thank you, ur one was amazingly fast. which lender did u apply?
I guess they won't say no if the app and valuation were okay, rite?
Fingers crossed.0 -
Same as yours - Halifax. Applied at the local branch.Dumpallhere: thank you, ur one was amazingly fast. which lender did u apply?
Maybe yours is taking a wee bit longer because of the shared ownership thing? Don't know ...
No one can tell you if you have ticked all the boxes or not. Only Halifax can! That said, delay doesn't necessarily mean rejection, so relax.0 -

Thank you and Congratulation!!! It's very nice to hear some positive news from some one that went thru the same thing as us. I hope everything go well for you.

Also, do they normally let you know the offer by post, email, or phone?

Shared ownership always used to require a final underwriting check prior to offer, even on a clean valuation.
As for the question, fastest offer I got out working for Halifax was just under four hours. Longest one just over six months.0 -
we applied to the Halifax on 19 June, offer received 26th June and we moved in 5 July0

MY first application , valuation and offer was done in 9 days
this time its almost been 3 weeks and valuation alone has been booked on for 28th day since applying :-( as colleys are quite busy in ESSEX0
