Should be good. I make mushrooms with Stilton - just get a nice big flat mushroom, turn it gills-side up, crumble Stilton on top and whack under the grill. :drool:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

Would be delicious!
Here's another twist for you, for the wintery evenings when you fancy something hearty. Make up some veggie suet crust pastry, line a pint pudding basin, fill with layers of whole cooked portobello mushrooms with thyme/goats cheese/cooked spinach with onions, stick the lid on and boil for about an hour. It makes a very savoury main course that even meaty people will enjoy.0 -
I'd just grill them on the hob with some oil (and some garlic as lisa26 says) do cupped side first the flip over, bit of garlic, some more oil, grill some more then the goats cheese and grill again. yum yum. I wouldn't cook them in water on hob first they might get a bit soggy0

mmm mushrooms and goats cheese? delish. dont mess with it too much. simply fry the mushrooms (in butter or oil) and when cooked slice the goats cheese, fill the mushrooms and grill until the cheese is all melted! What could be nicer?0

Managed to get three small packs from Mt T at grand sum of 19 p each - all set to make something for friends coming for Dinner - had thought of goats cheese tart but all the recepies on my usual source (bbc good food) seem to be from the ready steady cook series and involve shop bought puff patry rolled and and cheese springled on. I was thinking of something more like a quiche..... Any thoughts please?0
