Evening all, late night last night resulted in a late start to the day today - however sun is still shining (or was this afternoon) and I treated myself to some sunflowers today with the shopping - only thing is there were only 4 of them in the bunch, not sure if they look a bit daft on the vase and could do with another bunch - but i'm not sure i can warrant the additional spend.

Morning all, cloudy here today but dry so washing on the line and hoping it will blow dry before it rains!

Whereabouts in North Devon were you Jefery? Such a beautiful part of the country. Can be a blessing or a nuisance without internet on holiday, especially if you want to quickly look something up e.g. opening times of places etc. Bet the allotment needs quite a bit of work after the rain and sunshine, but hopefully plenty to pick as well.
Not too bad as my my dad did watering/weeding duties while we were away! I got a bit of internet in the kitchen on my phone so opening times were available otherwise it was sketchy - not worth browsing the forum! Found a lovely National Trust place only 7 miles away and as we are NTS members (och aye, Scottish NT is so much cheaper!) we went twice - brilliant place - Arlington Court.

Picked 7 courgettes this morning but you couldn't really call them courgettes as the bigggest was about 20" long . Got a good load of potatoes, onions, carrots (best year ever), beetroot, spring onions, salad leaves, broad beans, dwarf beans, etc. from the plot - excellent -saves buying veggies from supermarket, all for £1 a week :D !
Sweetcorn is coming along well as are the cabbages, pumpkins, butternut squash, parsnips, radish, etc.

    Night all :D
If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat :D

Wow, sounds like you have a bumper crop of veggies this year. Must be saving a fortune as well as being good excercise with all the digging and weeding etc.

Thanks SnD - have a little poke around the soil at the top at the bottom of the foliage and if it looks a decent size pull one up and have a look! :D

Definitely! I like to go there on my bike too - more exercise and less food miles
Going again tomorrow while I'm off this week.
